I used to think the more time I spent on the range...
The better I would get.
Hitting ball after ball, but not really having a plan
But then, as I got older, range balls got more expensive and my time to practice dwindled.
And from my training as a PT…

TPI certified performance coach
I knew there had to be a better way.
So I began to devise a system…
To train these complex golf movement patterns and improve my body coordination
Away from the course.
That’s when my swing progress started to LEVEL UP.
Doing a lot of the hard work at home or in the gym…
Then taking those patterns and feels that I learned and applying them to my swing.
It takes a lot of patience
But this is the best way I’ve found if you truly want to get better FAST.

Front nine of the Poway Championship on the U.S. Am Tour US Am Tour - SOCAL
Maderas Golf Club is known as one of the nicest and most difficult courses in San Diego.
Always fun to play there cuz I know it’s gonna put my full game to the test.
Played really solid this front nine with 3 birdies and a bogey.
But with danger lurking on every hole…
Losing my concentration for just 1 shot could be disastrous.
Back nine coming soon to see if I can take home the trophy!

So close to my biggest win yet…
Awesome day at the Southern California Public Links Championship at El Dorado Park Golf Course
Played out of my mind shooting 7-under 29 on the back nine…
Including a 60 ft eagle putt on 18 to tie the lead.
Honestly one of the best moments of my golfing life.
Shoutout to the LA locals who came out to watch and support me.
It was awesome seeing you guys out there!
Ended up losing in a 3-way playoff, which was a bummer..
but still was awesome to be in the hunt down the stretch and have a chance.
I’ve been saying for weeks I knew I was close.
I feel like my game is the most well rounded it’s ever been.
I believe this is only the start.

It’s the Southern California Match Play Qualifier at Temecula Creek.
Only 7 players move on from this field to the championship.
Unfortunately, I didn’t even sniff being one of them.
Overall just one of those days where nothing really goes right.
All of my misses seemingly ended up in the worst spots and couldn’t buy a putt… even though I felt like I was hitting my line with pretty good speed.
Super frustrating day.
One of those days you leave the course and just wanna forget about golf for a while.
Of course… that lasts until maybe the next day (or later that night)
Then I just get this renewed desire to get out and practice… figure out whatever was going wrong.
It’s a sickness for sure.
Despite this round… I do feel like I’m the best player I’ve ever been.
Just haven’t gotten the results on the course lately.
It’s close.

Today I’m out at Temecula Creek playing in the qualifier for the SCGA Match Play Championship.
Rough front nine to be honest.
I’ve never been a fan of soft, slow greens…
I’m generally a player who likes to see more break so I definitely putt my best on faster, firmer greens.
That being said, I gotta be able to play on the greens that are presented to me.
No excuses. I need to be better.
Still 9 holes to play and gonna need to start dropping some birds to move on to the championship.
First, things first. Get my mind in a positive state.
Then just let it go and accept the outcome.
What a rollercoaster of emotions…
