It's a funny thing about paintball.
Everyone starts thinking it's all about winning. You show up to the event with one goal: victory. If you don't get the result you wanted, it feels like it wasn't worth it.
But that's where people are so wrong. They miss the bigger picture of what paintball truly means.
When Chess Club headed to NXL France, we were on a mission to win it all. What we didn't expect was to meet a group from another country and create a bond that felt like we’d been friends for years! The Mayhem Tigers beat us in the 10-man division, but when they needed some extra hands for the 7-man, we teamed up because it just felt right. And guess what? Together, we won!
Imagine that: a group of people who had never met before that moment came together to have fun—and succeeded.
This past weekend at NXL World Cup, we had the chance to team up with the Mayhem Tigers again, and wow, did we have fun! A huge thank-you to the Tigers program for letting a few Chess boys join forces with you. We may not have taken 1st place, but we won where it really counts: in having fun, bringing home some medals, and making unforgettable memories.
That’s what paintball is truly about: the bonds you create, the friends you meet, and the moments you’ll never forget.
