Life is Good. The company that makes those cute, optimistic T-Shirts highlighting the simple pleasures of life successfully captures the essence of youth. Spreading positivity, their full slogan is "Life isn't Easy. Life isn't Perfect. Life is Good."
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Looking at the pictures of happy young people on their home page makes me remember when I was young, carefree, and my only responsibility was me. Seems like a lifetime ago. But can that spirit be recaptured later in life? When everything seems to be about responsibility and appointments and deadlines, not to mention the state of society, it's difficult. But we can all recapture it with a little bit of belief and small changes in our thought process. Gratefulness is a great place to start. Also, understanding that our expectations are often disappointed. But how can we tease out a snippit of wonder every day? Reconnect with your past, optimistic, child inside to see who they were and connect that to who you are today. I think you'll find a bit of them still there, yearning to be let out, even for a day. Maybe just for an hour. I challenge you to tap into that child and allow them to emerge without judgement in a small way this week. It's just one little step toward joy. And remember, "Life isn't Easy. Life isn't Perfect. Life is Good."
