Congratulations to the 2016 NNHSL Champs The Westin!

20/07/2016

Hello All,

Sorry for not keeping up with the page. Life has a tendency to get in the way. That being said, The Playoffs started last night, and the first round had it's share of upsets!!!

In The Big O Division, the #6 seed knocked off the #3 seed by a score of 10-7. In The Sweetwater Division, the #7 seed won their very first playoff game by knocking off the #2 seed by a score of 1-0.

It was chalk in all the other games. In The Big O Division, #1 seed pummeled by a score of 15-0. #4 seed overcame a 7-0 deficit in the 5th inning to beat 11-10. #2 seed put a drubbing on #7 seed by a score of 17-7.

Over in The Sweetwater Division: In a NNHSL playoff nailbiter, #1 seed scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the 6th to edge by a single run, winning 6-5. #4 seed blitzed #5 seed 13-3. #3 seed pulled off the ever difficult playoff shutout, beating #6 4-0.

Rounds 2 & 3 go down next week, starting at 6:15. The winners of the early games will then have to win AGAIN at 7:15 for the right to battle for the NNHSL 2016 title. The schedule is as follows:

Big O Division

#1 Waldorf v #4 Westin
#2 Wit v #6 Public

Sweetwater Division

#1 Thompson v #4 Ritz Carlton
#3 ULC v #7 CAA

Best of luck to all involved next week, and we hope to see all of you out there cheering on your favorite teams!

After Mother Nature gave us all a bye last week, the NNHSL returns for another week of exciting softball action.

Be there at 6:15 for the start of tonight's games.

See you there!

We are less then 3 hours away from the start of the 2016 NNHSL Season!!! Are you ready?

We have 20 hotels participating this season, a new record.
We also have our first scheduled game "under the lights" tonight at 8:30 at Clarendon Park.

Today begins the journey to see who will stand alone atop the NNHSL mountain.

Will it be the Waldorf, winners of two of the last three titles, who seek to become the first back to back winners since the Hyatt McCormick in 2003-04?

Will it be one of the seven other returning champions looking to reclaim past glory?

Will it be a first time champ, ready to taste ultimate victory for the first time?

The voyage begins tonight, with games at 6;15, 7:15 and 8:30. Come on out and cheer on your favorite team as they look to become the 2016 Near North Hotel Softball League Champs!

Once again, here's a link to the schedule. We look forward to seeing you there!

I was just informed that almost all of the games will be played today.

The following teams will not be playing due to the field conditions:

The Cass, The Langham, The Thompson & The Westin.

Everyone else is scheduled to play. I'll let you know if anything changes.

Will Week 2 be affected by Mother Nature?
Will we be able to get these games in?
Will Batman be able to stop the Joker......sorry, got carried away.

Stay tuned for updates as they become available.

What a great opening week! There were SIX games decided by 4 runs or fewer (including THREE by only ONE run.) Talk about excitement!!! This week's big winner is Union League Club Chicago, as they swept their double header vs the defending Champion Wit Hotel & The Four Seasons. Also, The Hyatt McCormick returned after a 6 year hiatus with a big win over The Cass. Congrats to all the other Week One winners, as well!
