Happy Global Running Day ! Our crew was out yesterday crushing their first of 3 summer 5k time trials. Despite the oppressive heat and humidity, these amazing athletes dug deep and not only got it done, but exceeded expectations!!!! Let's GO!!!!

🏃 APRIL (AND A LITTLE MARCH) RACE RECAP 🏃‍♀️
What a few months. Your people have been BUSY, and it's time to celebrate every single one of them.
🎽 Texas Senior Games Track Meet — March 22nd
Dave showed up to the track and reminded ALL of us that running isn't just about long endurance events. In the 800m he placed 3rd in the 55-59 age group and qualified for the 2027 National Senior Games in Tulsa. Then he immediately turned around and raced the 1500m, finishing 4th and qualifying for nationals AGAIN. Two races, two national qualifications, zero chill. Go Dave!! 🔥
🐻 Bearathon Half Marathon — March 28th
Suzanne took on the toughest half marathon in Texas with a smart game plan: speed intervals on the flats, conservation mode on the climbs. It WORKED — she ran faster on this beast of a course than she did at Decker Half the year before. That's not luck, that's racing with your brain AND your legs. So proud of you, Suzanne! 🙌
🌊 San Diego Beach and Bay Half Marathon — April 11th
Pavan headed to San Diego for a weekend getaway with friends and threw down a half marathon PR while he was at it. Way to represent!! 💪
🌸 Cherry Blossom 5K & 10 Miler — April 12th
Clea and Coach Gina attended the RRCA Coaching Convention in Washington D.C. and obviously had to race while they were there. The Cherry Blossom 10 miler started right on the National Mall — flat, fast, perfect weather. 10/10, five stars, would recommend. 🌸
🤠 Statesman Cap10K — April 12th
Raghu made the trip back to Austin to join Drew, Ram, Luke, Amy, Shan, Satish, and Dave for one of the city's most beloved races. It was a brutally hot and humid day, but they all managed the heat and crossed that finish line. Some days the race is just about getting it done — and they did. Congrats on a hard fought battle!! 🏅
🏆 Boston Marathon — April 20th
Kristen, Taylor, and some of our incredible friends toed the line at the most iconic marathon in the world. The race is just one day — what we celebrate is the YEARS of work that made that start line possible. So proud of you!! 💛
👟 Leander Band 5K — April 25th
Apex was a proud sponsor and our crew showed up in force. Amy, Clea, Sara W., Dominic, Sarah L., Pavan, and Dave all ran the 5K after finishing their long runs that same morning. 😄 And Ram and Shan came to RACE — both walking away with 5K PRs! Let's gooo!! 🎉

What a group. What a month. This is why we run. 👟✨

🏃 March Race Recap: Two Epic Weekends, One Incredible Team 🏃
What a month it has been for Apex Running!
March 1 — Cowtown Marathon & Half Marathon, Fort Worth
Hills. Humidity. And pure Apex determination.
Zina, Joe, Sarah, and Drew took on the Cowtown Half Marathon on a tough day that demanded every ounce of grit they had — and they delivered exactly that. This community is built for the hard days, and y'all proved it! 👏
But the headline from Cowtown? Dave completed his FIRST MARATHON at 74 years old — nearly 75 — and landed 4th in his age group! Dave, you are an absolute inspiration and proof that the finish line has no age limit. We are SO proud of you! 🎉🙌
March 8 — LA Marathon
Stephanie and our buddy Jenna took on the LA Marathon as part of a truly special group — the LA 100, a collection of women from across the country and all walks of life, coming together on International Women's Day to conquer 26.2 miles as one. The course brought historic heat and its signature big hills, but Stephanie ran every mile with pure joy.
The experience was so meaningful that she had her finish time engraved on her medal for the very first time. That says it all. 💛
Stephanie and Jenna, you didn't just run a race — you were part of something historic. We are beyond proud!
What an incredible March for the Apex family. Keep showing up, keep running bold. 🧡

Catching up!
☀️ February Race Recap: Austin Marathon & Half Marathon | Feb. 15 ☀️
What a day in Austin! Our Apex runners showed up and showed out under sunny, warm skies — not exactly typical February weather, but our crew handled it like the champions they are!
Crushing the half marathon distance, we had Stephanie, Sarah, Clea, and Amy all crossing that finish line strong. So proud of each of you!
And then there's Ivan. The Austin Marathon course is no joke — those hills are NOTORIOUS — but Ivan dug deep, battled every single one of them, and still hit his goal! That's what Apex grit looks like. 💪
Huge congratulations to all our runners! Austin, you were a beautiful and brutal host. We wouldn't have it any other way. 🤘

Better late than never!

🎉 January Race Recap: Two Races, One Epic Team Kickoff to 2025! 🎉
What a way to start the year! Apex runners were busy on January 18 — simultaneously taking over TWO race courses across the country. Let's get into it!
🌴 Rose Bowl Half Marathon — Pasadena, CA
Tristan, Sarah, and Karen headed west to take on the Rose Bowl Half, and to hang with Asics athlete and national champion Deena Kastor...no big deal.
Sarah and Karen had planned on keeping things chill with a "fun run" vibe — until post-race logistics had other plans and suddenly their paces got a whole lot speedier! Sometimes a little urgency is the best training tool. 😄
Tristan ran a strong, confident race and walked away with a revelation that we love to hear: half marathons can be raced HARD and you still wake up the next morning feeling human! If you know, you know. Welcome to the half marathon fan club, Tristan! 🙌
🤘 Austin International Half Marathon — Austin, TX
Meanwhile, back in Texas, we had a SQUAD on the course. Karen, Dave, Stephanie, Dominic, Luke, Clea, Shan, Amy, Ram, and Dave laced up under chilly temps and clear blue skies — honestly just about perfect conditions for a fast, flat(ish) half marathon. And the results showed it!
PRs were flying. Smiles were everywhere at the finish line. This race was one of those days that reminds you exactly why you do this. 💛
And it truly takes a village — Zina, Joe, Drew and Coach Gina were posted up at Mile 6 delivering the loudest, most enthusiastic cheers our runners needed right when they needed them most. THAT is what community looks like. 📣
So incredibly proud of this team. January is in the books and we are just getting started. Buckle up, 2025! 🧡

🔥 On July 1, Apex took on our second summer 5k time trial, and what a morning it was! From PRs to smarter race strategies to simply showing up and putting in the work, every single runner had something to be proud of. It’s not just about speed — it’s about learning, testing limits, and gaining the confidence that will carry us into fall racing.

Extra fun: it happened to be Taylor’s birthday, and he celebrated with a 5k PR. 🎉🎂

We’ve got one more 5k time trial to go on August 5th — can’t wait to see how all this summer speed work pays off. 💪🏽

This morning, Apex took on the first of our three summer 5k time trials — and WOW, everyone crushed it! 🔥 From seasoned marathoners to those building back fitness, every runner showed up, gave it their all, and learned a lot.

Why the 5k? Even for long-distance lovers, sharpening top-end speed and improving efficiency at shorter distances pays off big time. Training for and racing the 5k helps build the strength, turnover, and mental grit that make those marathon miles feel smoother and more sustainable.

We’ll be back at it in July for round two — can’t wait to see how much everyone levels up! 💪🏽🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

What a fun time we had at the Leander Band 5k! APEX runners dominated the leaderboard in several of the AG categories! We were honored to be a sponsor of this event and can't wait to be back next year! Thanks, Leander Band!!
