• We’ve been doing this for a while…since 1991! In fact, the CEO of our company was contracted by Ocean to jointly develop some of their first miniature spectrometers and accompanied software. With 20+ years behind us, we’ve figured out what works and what doesn’t, ultimately perfecting our design and allowing us to continue to develop new products!

• Ruggedized and Portable-Shock proof, permanently aligned optics, bolted inside an industrial grade enclosure
NASA has a few orbiting in space, they’ve been mounted on a rocket and blasted through the atmosphere by another University research group, made it to the Amazon river…in fact there is a video on YouTube of someone running over our instrumentation with an SUV! No recalibrations necessary!

This includes our SpectraWiz software package with several built in applications for fluorescence studies, radiometry, spectro-chemistry, monitoring/characterization of emissions, reflectance and color studies, absorbance/transmission measurements, and the list goes on. We even include drivers and customizable LabVIEW /Microsoft Excel with VBA programs free of charge.

We’re excited to unveil our new SE LED UV light source here at SPIE Photonics West 2026—and it’s already getting a lot of attention! This compact, stable UV light source features four discrete UV wavelengths, fully tunable through software or analog dials for hands-on control. Whether you prefer digital precision or manual adjustment, this system gives you total flexibility right at the source.

We’re currently set up for fluorescence measurements, and the live demos are happening now. If you’re working with UV excitation, fluorescence spectroscopy, or optical measurement, this is something you’ll want to see in person.

In a recent peer-reviewed study published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, scientists used BLUE-Wave and DWARF-Star spectrometers to perform UV-VIS-NIR absorption measurements on an americium coordination complex. The data was captured inside a HEPA-filtered fume hood using fiber-optic coupling—highlighting StellarNet’s flexibility for controlled and high-containment research environments.
