This year is 27 years since I first became "KLR". Then, I became KLW when I married my best friend. I met my husband because of the horses. The people that are in my life because of the ponies, humbles me. Recently, I've been giving lessons to 2nd generations. Giving lessons to the children of my first lesson kids is pretty cool. I have life long relationships, friends, family, my husband and my children all because the horses came in to my life. My momma planted the seed to this passion when I was very young. I've prayed for years about where this love of the ponies will lead me. I can never thank the parents, kids and the horses for all you've given me. For never giving up on me or yourselves when the horses broke our hearts.
With all this comes my retirement.
The Lord has opened the door in a big way for our family. We are purchasing a restaurant on March 1st. The journey will look a bit different from here. I want to get back to riding (and competing??) for myself. Of my 27 years of lessons and training, 25 of those have been with McCue. I think we both need each other again. I want to be a horse show mom and support Delaney in all her pursuits. I want to watch Vivian and Jagger play baseball, football and softball.
I love you all. I will truly miss endless hours with littles on the end of lunge lines learning to post, finding the confidence to canter and long talks with parents about goals and life.
