Looks like day done.

Ken reports coming out of Turn 7 in second gear, there was a loud crunch, and an aggressive rattling sound thereafter.

Put the car up on stands, and there is now a definite sub-optimal noise coming out of the transaxle when the wheels spin, that increases in frequency and intensity as wheel speed increases. May have broken something in the diff.

Friend of the team Zak has always joked about “grabbing a fist-full of Neutrals.” We may have finally failed our first M17 four speed.

Transmission will come out to install the new LZ9 3900 engine, and a postmortem will tell us more.

Good morning! As Jackie Stewart has been known to say, “it’s a beautiful day for motor car racing!”

The car passed it’s check-up last night, so we’re taking the green optimistic for a bunch of fun today. Eight hours of “Driving Excitement!”

Ken goes out first for around 90 minutes.

Ken ran another hour and a half stint, and handed off the car to Justin. About an hour and a half to checkered flag, and we made it!

We crossed the line side by side with Fieroline in a 1966 LeMans style “photo finish.”

A quick check of the car revealed nothing unusual. Tomorrow, we race! We may have a couple guest drivers to share the car with. News on this as it happens.

The day is going well! Ken took the first hour. He reported the cool shirt system was not working. We pitted after the first 60 minutes and rectified the wiring issue on the cool shirt system.

Justin went out for about fifteen minutes shy of two hours. Cool shirt working, car handling awesome, running some fairly consistent and decent times. Brakes started a bit touchy, and some adjustment was made to put a bit more brake pressure to the rear with the adjustable proportioning valve.

One driver-induced spin in turn 10/11, as Justin pushed the limit of adhesion and went a bit beyond it.

Ken out again now, for as long as he would like.

Green flag! Just Ken and Justin this weekend, so it’s a fun-run track day weekend. Not particularly focused on results but instead maximizing fun and taking some time to tinker with the car. Ken is out first. We’re off and racing!

Some “maybe too-nice for us” new brake parts went on today. New red powder coated calipers on the rear. For the front, new coated calipers, pads, rotors, and wheel bearings.
