Kansas City Blues Rugby Interested in playing rugby? Message us here & we'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. In 2011-2012 both our D1 & D3 sides made it to the Elite 8.

The Kansas City Blues play in the Division I competition of the men's club USA Rugby which is the highest level of domestic competition. We also field a Division 2 team that offers new players a chance to learn the game while allowing them the opportunity to advance onto the D1 side. Our D1 side was ranked 5th in the final national rankings by rugbymag.com out of over 70 Division I sides in the country at the conclusion of 2012 & in 2014 our D1 side won the Midwest Premiership League and again made the Elite 8 at Nationals and finished 5th in the country. We also offer one of the top 7's programs in the country with Top 10 National Finishes in 2014 & 2015 and a National Runner-Up Finish in 2016.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our Blues brother, Colin McFarland, after a courageous battle with cancer. Colin was a truly beloved figure within the Blues family. Shortly after finishing his college football career at Missouri S&T, he joined the club in 2009. He quickly became a mainstay at prop for our D1 side through 2017, anchoring some of our most successful squads—including D1 National runs in 2011 and 2014, as well as the 2014 Midwest Premiership title.

He was one of the most unique people you’d ever meet and one of the absolute toughest men on the pitch, where his tenacious play earned him the nickname “The White Rhino.” Rest in Peace, brother. You will be deeply missed.
