One screenshot, one repost, one click can have serious consequences.

Cyberbullying isn’t just about hurtful comments, it can also involve sharing private or explicit images of minors, which is a crime and carries serious legal consequences.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office reminds teens: Don’t share it. If someone sends you an explicit image of a minor, stop the spread and seek help from a trusted adult.

What you send matters. What you share matters. Make the right choice.

Following an airboat crash in a remote area of the western Everglades, Broward Sheriff’s Office law enforcement and fire rescue personnel worked together to locate and rescue an injured man.

The response began with BSO dispatchers at Broward County Regional Communications answering the 911 call and immediately sending help. Deputies from BSO’s Weston District, Marine Patrol Unit and Aviation Unit responded, while Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue deployed Air Rescue 85 (AR85) and a fire rescue airboat.

Despite the remote location and challenging terrain, BSO Aviation located the crash site and guided fire rescue crews to the scene. Relying on their specialized training, Air Rescue and airboat crews navigated the swampy conditions to reach the injured man, provide lifesaving care and hoist him into AR85 for transport to a trauma hospital.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the injured man is expected to make a full recovery. Tragically, another man and a dog lost their lives in the crash.

This rescue highlights the training, readiness and seamless coordination between BSO’s law enforcement and fire rescue personnel, working together when lives are on the line.

Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use every day, from phones and e-bikes to scooters and electric vehicles.

But when damaged, overheated or improperly charged, these batteries can ignite and create dangerous fires.

During Fire Safety Prevention Week, BSO Fire Rescue and Emergency Services reminds you to charge smart and stay
alert.

Always use manufacturer-approved chargers, never use damaged or swollen batteries, and avoid charging devices near exits or while you sleep.

From patrol to pouring coffee! ☕👮

For National Coffee with a Cop Day, our Dania Beach deputies stepped behind the counter to serve coffee and connect with the community.

One cup and one conversation at a time, these gatherings give deputies and residents a chance to discuss community needs, get to know one another and build stronger relationships.

Thank you, Revivo Cafe, for having us, and thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to support our law enforcement personnel. We’re grateful for your trust, partnership and commitment to our community.

At the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO), supporting the people who serve our community is a responsibility we take seriously.

We are proud to be recognized by Destination Zero, an initiative of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, for our innovative Health & Wellness Program.

Two years ago, we opened the organization’s first-ever state-of-the-art Research, Development and Training Center (R.D.T.C.), dedicated to the health and wellness of our first responders and providing resources designed to support their physical, mental and behavioral well-being.

Through fitness, nutrition, behavioral health, peer support and resiliency programs, we help our employees stay healthy, prepared and ready for the demands of public safety.

When we invest in our people, we strengthen our agency and the communities we serve.
