The "company team" for KiteLife.com was developed on the foundation of hand-picked pilots chosen for their respective skills, manner and outlook on life... One last dance with the wind and waves before heading home to the west coast this afternoon. 🌊🪁

What an incredible time in Port Aransas! A huge thank you to everyone who came out, shared the beach with us, and made us feel so welcome.

Special thanks to the wonderful folks at Fly It Port A Kite Shop for helping make this trip possible, and for giving us the opportunity to share our art, our passion, and the joy of flying together. 🙏🏻

Thanks also to Kite Forge for the phenomenal Djinn kites we flew all weekend - so smooth, total control, and built to last. 🤩

Last but not least, thanks to Executive Keys Condominiums on the Beach for the amazing hospitality at their beautiful property - great rooms just a short stroll from the beach. 🥰

For us, team flying has always been about connection — with the wind, with each other, and with the people who stop to watch.

Port A, you gave us some beautiful memories. Until next time! ❤️

So, what are those kites we’re flying? 🪁

If you’ve been watching Team KiteLife here in Port Aransas, you’ve probably noticed our distinctive four-line kites.

They’re called Djinn, designed by John Barresi and Brett Marchel, produced through Kite Forge.

The Djinn grew out of decades of competition, team flying, experimentation, and teaching fliers of every skill level, from beginners to masters. All that experience went into making a kite that’s precise and responsive, but also forgiving, approachable, and easier to fly than you might think!

There’s a lot of thoughtful design behind these colorful sails, but what matters most to us is how they feel in the air and the freedom they give us to play, create, and fly together.

They’re the kites we fly because they’re the kites we love flying. Simple as that. ❤️

If you’ve been curious about what we’re doing out there, come say hello! We’re always happy to talk kites, answer questions, and share a little of what makes this sport so much fun.

Port Aransas, you’ve been AMAZING! ❤️🪁

To all the new friends we’ve made here, and everyone who’s started following Team KiteLife this weekend — thank you! The hospitality, enthusiasm, and genuine warmth we’ve experienced here in Port A have been incredible. You’ve made us feel right at home, and we’re already looking forward to coming back!

We’re sharing one of our favorite videos featuring six of our pilots flying dual-line and quad-line kites together. It’s a little taste of what makes Team KiteLife tick — a love of flying in all its forms, a healthy dose of playfulness, and the joy of creating something together in the sky.

We brought four of our pilots to Port A this time, and we’ll be back out flying today (Monday, October 12) after 11 AM, near beach marker 18!

Come hang out with us! Whether you’re a lifelong kite enthusiast or just curious about what we’re doing, you’re welcome to watch, ask questions, and even stand just off our lead pilot’s shoulder for a behind-the-scenes look at how we communicate flight commands and bring our choreography to life.

No secrets, no velvet ropes — just good people, good wind, and a whole lot of fun.

Hope to see you on the beach! 🪁

First team session since August. 🔥

Eight hours of footage from three days on the field, edited down to four and a half minutes for your enjoyment — connection, reset, and new exploration.

This was also our first real step into combining dual-line and quad-line pilots together — Djinns and Avatars sharing space, working toward something new.

A lot of ground covered.
A lot more ahead as time allows.
