Description
Our library is based on project “The Little Free Library”: take a book, enjoy a book, share a book. Ride, stroll, skate or walk up, then browse, pick a book, maybe leave one too and enjoy! Ever since I came across an article about the first Little Free Library, I dreamed of building one in our Cobblers Crossing neighborhood. Here are our Top 10 reasons why we wanted to build this Street Corner LFL:
1. To share our love of books!
3. To help create community in our neighborhood.
4. To provide a great place to pick up a book when the local library is closed.
5. To allow kids and teens to pick up a book for themselves without having to wait for a ride to the library in downtown Elgin.
6. To encourage people to spend more time outside and get kids to ride their bike or go for a walk to pick up a free book.
7. To save trees by recycling books we've already read and sharing them with others to enjoy.
8. To encourage people to pick up a different genre of book than they are used to.
9. We've always secretly thought about being librarians.
10. To meet other fans of books and Harry Potter. My daughters insisted on this one. :)
