In my years as a trainer I've literally trained tens of thousands of men, woman, and children, and I'd be confident to say that over three quarters of them are average people from every ethinic background under the sun just trying to lose some weight. I'd also be confident to say that 90% of those have tried every diet and weight loss fad under the sun. As a health professional it comes as common sense to me, but if you don't understand the way the body works I suppose it's just rocket science. Every diet is going to work while your on it, cardio is going to burn calories while your doing it, starving and going on a cleanse or detox is going to shed body fat. But the most important thing you can take away from this, is that the second you stop any of the above your going to put that weight right back on and then some. There is no magic pill, no easy route, no fast track way to change your metabolism. It takes time, and sometimes a lot of it, and real dedication lifting weights in the gym, leaning out those muscles, changing your metabolism, and making healthy life choices day in and day out to have the kind of body and life you want. Make no mistake about it, if you can't invest that, then take a long hard look in the mirror and learn to be happy cause it's not going to get any better.
