Speaking up is one thing. Knowing how to advocate in a way that moves ideas forward and strengthens relationships is another.
We recently welcomed Nita Singh Kaushal, who teaches leadership and negotiation at the Stanford School of Engineering and Continuing Studies, for an interactive session on advocating for the priorities that matter, from projects and resources to professional growth. We came away with practical ways to frame requests, navigate important conversations, and build stronger alignment with the people who can help turn ideas into progress.

AI companions can feel supportive, available, and easy to talk to. For people already feeling isolated, however, relying on them for emotional support may deepen loneliness rather than ease it. A summer evening well spent on Cal Ave. The street came alive with live music, local businesses, activities, and plenty to discover along the way. Guests enjoyed live music from Smokin’ Slice of Mojo and Blue House, explored local businesses during the Wine Walk, and spent a relaxed summer evening on Cal Ave.
At the Stanford Research Park booth, visitors created personalized coasters with Pacific Art League and picked up complimentary insulated wine bags before heading out for dinner and drinks. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and helped make it such a fun evening! See you next time on September 24 for Jazz and Harvest Fest!

Why do unfamiliar voices become easier to recognize as we grow up, and what happens when that process develops differently?
A Stanford Medicine-led study found that teens with autism show different patterns in how their brains respond to unfamiliar voices as they mature, offering new insight into the connection between voice processing and social communication.
The findings could help researchers better understand the neurological processes behind social challenges in autism and point toward more personalized ways to support young people. https://f.mtr.cool/bfnwgkoevy
