Restoring Pelvic Floor & Low Back Control, Part 2

Having a baby is a beautiful experience. It can also take a real toll on your body.

Low back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, diastasis recti, leaking. They’re common after pregnancy, and they can leave you feeling vulnerable in your own body.

You don’t have to settle for that. Exercise can help.

The key is finding what your body needs, so we can change the signals it’s sending and receiving. Then we build strength and control right where you need it.

The goal: feeling in control of your body again, and getting back to the life you want.

Low Back Pain After Guillain-Barré: Getting Him Moving Again

Illness doesn’t send a warning.

A few months ago, this client was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a serious autoimmune condition.

Almost overnight, his movement and his low back were affected, and so was the life he wanted to live.

We didn’t hand him a cookie-cutter program. We built his training around what his body needed.

Assess. Adapt. Strengthen.

Now he’s moving with confidence again and getting back to the work and life he loves.

Building Scapular Strength & Control | Training for FSHD

Living with a chronic neuromuscular condition like Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) can progressively impact muscle strength, movement capacity, and overall quality of life.

But losing strength doesn’t mean you should stop challenging your muscles!

Strategic, consistent exercise can play an important role in preserving strength, improving movement control, and maintaining physical independence.

However, not all exercise is created equal.

When dealing with FSHD, the goal isn’t simply to exercise harder. It’s to exercise smarter.

That means identifying your body’s specific limitations, targeting the muscles and movement patterns that need attention, and applying the appropriate level of resistance and challenge without creating excessive fatigue.

The right exercise program should be built around your body’s needs and abilities—not the other way around.

The goal? Preserve movement, maximize function, and maintain greater control over how you move through life.

Restoring Control: Pelvic Floor & Lower Back

Struggling with a weak core, tight hips, poor pelvic stability, or chronic lower back pain?

These are incredibly common challenges, but they don’t have to define how you move or feel!

Through strategic, targeted exercise, we can address underlying weaknesses, improve neuromuscular coordination, and restore the strength, stability, and control your body needs to function more efficiently.

You don’t have to accept feeling weak, fragile, or limited by pain.

With the right approach, you can rebuild confidence in your body, regain control of your movement, and improve your overall quality of life.

Train Smarter. Move Better. Live Stronger.

Chronic Back Pain Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All

Chronic back pain can look and feel very different from one person to the next. The limitation may involve the hips, spine, rib cage, breathing mechanics, strength, mobility, or how your body coordinates movement.

That’s why exercise shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all either.

At Mindful Motion LA, we assess how your body moves, identify potential weak links and limitations, and build a targeted exercise program around your specific needs.

The goal isn’t simply to avoid movements that hurt—it’s to improve your body’s capacity to move better, get stronger, and perform with confidence.

Your pain is unique. Your exercise should be too.

Every session looks different when you’re training around FSHD (facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy) 💪

In this session, we targeted his more affected regions — calf, knee, and scapulae — starting with advanced hands-on techniques to improve strength and control before loading in the gym. Once that control is established, we challenge the tissues with exercise to move the needle even further.

This is what progress actually looks like: not a straight line, not a highlight reel of PRs, but consistent, intentional work that respects what the body needs.

Proud of the effort in this session. This is why I do what I do. 🙌

Is knee pain holding you back from performing your best — on the court or in life?

When your knees don’t work right, everything gets harder.
Here’s the truth: the fix for your knee pain might not be your knee at all.

More often than not, knee pain is a symptom — the result of your hips, feet, or low back not doing their job properly.

To solve a stubborn physical problem, you have to look at the full picture: your unique physical history and your current abilities. That’s how you find the root cause driving the pain, not just the symptom.

𝑺𝒄𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒔 “𝑭𝒊𝒙”: 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑵𝒆𝒄𝒌 & 𝑳𝒐𝒘 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒌 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍

Neck and low back pain that just won’t quit?

Scoliosis. Stenosis. Degenerative disc disease.

You’ve probably been told to “just live with it” — or worse, to stop moving altogether.

Here’s the truth: exercise can be medicine for your spine. But like any medicine, the dose matters. Too little does nothing. Too much (or the wrong kind) can make things worse.

That’s the missing piece for most people.

The client in this video has congenital scoliosis. For years, it affected how she moved and how her body processed pain.

Through proper evaluation and precisely dosed exercise, she’s moving better and feeling better — not overnight, but in real time, session by session.

This isn’t magic. It’s science. It’s the body doing exactly what it’s designed to do when you give it the right stimulus.

If you’re stuck, frustrated, or just don’t know where to start — you don’t have to figure it out alone.

DM us “CHANGE” and let’s build your path forward. 💪

𝑪𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒎-𝑻𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝑬𝒙𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑩𝒐𝒅𝒚’𝒔 𝑵𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒔 ✅

Exercise is meant to improve your health.

But when it’s poorly designed—or simply too much—it can do the opposite, increasing pain, limiting performance, and slowing progress.

The key 🔑 to creating positive changes through exercise is identifying what your body needs most and designing your training around that.

For me personally, years of injuries and accumulated wear and tear have left me with areas of pain and vulnerability.

If I overdo my training—or stop exercising altogether—pain, stiffness, and dysfunction begin to creep back in.

When that happens, I don’t just feel worse physically—I notice it affects my mood, energy, and overall quality of life.

The exercises in this video are some of the strategies I’m currently using to address my specific limitations so I can continue feeling strong, capable, and resilient.

Remember: The best exercise program isn’t the hardest one—it’s the one your body needs most.

If you’re struggling to figure out which exercises your body actually needs, send us a DM. We’d love to help.

𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔: 𝑹𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒆 𝑷𝒂𝒊𝒏, 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉 & 𝑼𝒏𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑴𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕

Your hands do far more than grip—they’re essential to nearly everything you do each day.

From opening a jar to carrying groceries, typing, lifting weights, or playing sports, healthy hands are the foundation of independence and performance.

What many people don’t realize is that your hands occupy a large amount of “neural real estate” in the brain. Improving hand strength, dexterity, and mobility may influence how your entire upper body moves and functions.

If your hands are stiff, weak, or painful, don’t ignore them. Just like any other part of your body, they benefit from targeted training.

Give your hands, fingers, and forearms the attention they deserve with purposeful exercises designed to build strength, improve mobility, and support long-term function.

Small investments in hand health today can pay dividends for years to come.
