This past Thursday, we decided that we were going to intrasquad due to possible bad weather for the weekend. It was nice to get on the field and prepare for the upcoming season! Here are some numbers from the scrimmage:

24 Innings
12 pitchers
516 pitches
107 AB's
32 Hits
15 Singles
9 Doubles
6 Triples
4 Double Plays
5:54 pm First Pitch
9:27 pm Last Pitch

With all those numbers the best one was 0, as in no complaints. This team would play 24/7 and not complain once. Here's to a great start of the season and most importantly, warmer weather!

The new school year is upon us. Everything is new, the kids, the position, and the district. One thing that will never change is the expectations. Yesterday our kids started our ducks vs skunks series for the semester. 20 kids between two teams fighting for one position. Here is to a competitive 10 weeks of baseball

The new school year is about to start which means last year is just a memory and a no longer a journey. I would like to say thanks to all the baseball parents from the varsity to the silver who did everything on their power to support OUR program. From working with the Booster Club, Senior Night, Concession Stand, Baseball Banquet, and most importantly being the biggest fan / supporter to your son's. Thanks to all administrators on campus and downtown for giving us the support and resources we needed to make it a memorable season. We would also like to remember our game manager Chris Veliz who suddenly passed away shortly after our season ended. If you knew Chris he was the absolute best at his job and we will miss him greatly. Soon the new year will start and so will the journey for the varsity kids returning and the JV kids that will fight for a spot on the varsity. But most importantly the seniors who made a statement this past year. May the lessons learned on the baseball diamond carry you to a career, the work force, or to college. Before the memory ends let's remember what these kids sacrificed for 10 months; off-season, regular season, playoffs, and all star games. I'm asking for anyone who was associated with Estacado Baseball to post a picture of your son, teammates, fans in the stand one last time! I will post the first picture. It was a great ride Matadors .
