Active Mom Certified Personal Trainer (ISSA)

In home Personal training for Moms to be and Mommies, as well as motivation and nutrition tips!

I’ve always considered myself an active person. I’ve run marathons, done strength training and consistently eat healthy. I thought that was all over once I became pregnant. I thought becoming pregnant meant gaining tons of weight and only celebrities look great pregnant because they have personal chefs and trainers 24/7. But then I realized “There’s no reason I can't look good pregnant too!” As a fitness enthusiast, I decided to incorporate my athletic lifestyle with my new motherhood. I maintained my healthy lifestyle and modified my workouts so that they were safe for me and the new baby. Over the course of ten months (not 9!) I worked out consistently up until the day I delivered my little man, Cole! Being active not only made me feel better about myself and curb the weight gain, it also helped with my delivery. Now that Cole is here, I want to be a healthy and happy mommy for him. So many moms gain too much weight during their pregnancy and then think that they’ll never lose it. I’m here to let you know that lots of women get in the best shape of their lives after having a baby. With my passion for fitness and family, I want to help moms get back in shape. Whether you are a new mom or a mom of school aged kids, my workouts can give you the kick start you need to get strong and healthy! I know firsthand that time is limited so I’m here to help you get the most done in the least amount of time. I offer customized in home personal training in my home or yours - wherever is most convenient for you! I will also be doing park work outs. I understand just how hard it is to fit fitness into your life as a busy mom, but I also know just how crucial it is, and I will help you recognize this too. I believe in a healthy active lifestyle. I want to share ALL of my secrets with you!! I promise, you will be in the best shape of your life!

Hot weather changes your run more than you think. ☀️

If your pace is slower and your heart rate is higher, that's normal. Your body is working harder to keep you cool.

Give yourself grace, slow down when needed, stay hydrated, and focus on effort, not pace.

Save this for your next summer run! 🏃‍♀️💗

🌟 Active Mom Client Spotlight: Meet Susan! 🌟

Susan is proof that consistency, hard work, and dedication pay off. Through her training with Active Mom, she has become a stronger, faster runner and continues to set new personal goals.

Here’s what Susan had to say about how Active Mom helped her run faster:

How Active Mom helped me run faster, get stronger, and become more confident

I’ve been running for decades and I’ve never been a running star. But at 58 years old, I am back in love with running. I finished my first marathon in 2024 at five hours, 14 minutes. I ran my second marathon in 2025 at four hours, 31 seconds—a 45-minute improvement! I’ve never broken two hours in a half marathon but on May 3, 2026, I got close, with a personal record of 2:01:18. I’ve also been seeing sub-9-minute paces in 10Ks—a pace I haven’t seen in more than a few years.

The remarkable detail behind all these mid-pack (some people would say “ho-hum”) paces: it’s my age: it’s a time where you’re just trying to keep the pace from slipping or, at best, work hard to hold the line. You worry about losing pace, losing strength—and it’s a big challenge not to lose your confidence.

I began Active Mom about two years ago, consistently attending two or three times a week. Since then, I have gotten stronger. I reached a lifetime pushup personal record, held a plank for more time than I ever thought I could, learned that pikes on a TRX are crazy hard (and crazy rewarding), and connected with women who are encouraging, super smart, empathic, and frankly amazing.

One more strength personal record to share: it’s lifting my suitcase into the airplane overhead compartment. I am a writer who travels a lot. I have been to many countries and there are still many more to visit while I can still tell the stories. It is the Active Mom brand of strength that will keep me out there.

Thank you Susan for being such a big part of our community!
