Luna Jiménez Institute for Social Transformation At LJIST, we support BIPOC and female leaders to lead authentically and with assurance through a practice of Healing-Engaged Leadership.

The Luna Jiménez Institute for Social Transformation offers transformational programs that inspire and empower individuals and organizations to heal from the effects of oppression and increase their commitment to transformative social change through personal transformation, organizational change, and social justice. Today, more than ever, we as a global community are poised to address the long-standing historical and present-day implications of racism and other oppressions that impact us on the individual, organizational and community level. We seek leadership that can ask good questions. We seek leadership that is willing to stay with these questions. We seek leadership that acknowledges our profound goodness as humans and our desire to right wrongs. We seek leadership that recognizes our courage to face the tragic and irrational separation of us as human beings. We seek leadership and guidance on how to both ask for and receive unconditional forgiveness—even as we make a space to express the deep sense of injustice, grief and loss that this oppression has left on us.

Across the world this week, communities are marking Welcoming Week — an international movement to honor the voices, cultures, leadership, and contributions of immigrants and refugees. Here in Portland, neighbors are gathering at resource fairs, voter-registration tables, town halls, cultural performances, and community celebrations.🌎

On Friday, our team will gather with women leaders, elected officials, public servants, advocates, and community partners to celebrate women’s leadership and recognize the immigrant and refugee women strengthening our communities every day at Women, Leadership, & Empowerment, held on International Equal Pay Day and hosted by the Center for Women's Leadership and the City of Portland. 💜

We’re grateful to join a week that makes inclusion visible through action: learning our rights, strengthening civic participation, sharing resources, celebrating culture, and creating more ways for neighbors to connect.

Thank you to The Center for Women's Leadership, the City of Portland Office of Community & Civic Life Immigrant & Refugee Program, the Mayor’s Office, and the Oregon Commission for Women for bringing Friday’s gathering together — and to the many organizations carrying Welcoming Week across the city:
SOAR Immigration Legal Services
Pacific Refugee Support Group
League of Women Voters
Oregon Historical Society

The Women, Leadership, & Empowerment Event is at capacity, but Welcoming Week continues in communities around the world.

Today is your last chance to join the Healing-Engaged Leadership Path (HELP) as a founding member and receive a bonus 3 months of support. 🎁

Inside HELP, Nanci will personally support you to:

✅ Lead as your full self — with more clarity, presence, and trust in the wisdom you already carry

✅ Make your wellbeing non-negotiable so your leadership can be more sustainable

✅ Let yourself be backed, supported, thought about, and cared for

✅ Build coalitions for change without abandoning your values or becoming the bridge everyone walks over

✅ Move through conflict with care, truth, repair, and groundedness

To get started, DM us.

P.S. HELP isn’t going away — the only thing changing tonight is that this special launch offer expires, and we'll pause new enrollments while we get set up and start serving the founding members who’ve joined.

Tomorrow is the final day to join the Healing-Engaged Leadership Path (HELP) with three bonus months of support at no additional cost.

If this program has been sitting with you, and you still have questions about whether HELP fits what you’re navigating in your leadership, raising your hand to ask doesn’t commit you to enrolling.

After tomorrow, enrollment will pause while we focus on the founding members and launching the program and the bonus three months will end.

Send us a DM for a no-pressure conversation about whether HELP is right for you.

The special founding offer for the Healing-Engaged Leadership Path (HELP) is coming to a close in just 3 days — on September 3.

After that the bonus 3 months of support will go away and we’ll be closing enrollment until later in the year.

HELP is for leaders who want to lead as their full selves, make their wellbeing non-negotiable, let themselves be backed, build coalitions for change, and move through conflict with more care and groundedness.

If that sounds like you, DM us or comment HELP to learn more. We’d love to have you!

You’re holding a lot—and still showing up.

You’re navigating constant change, rising costs, health and family crises, advances in AI, and increasing pressure. Funding is tighter. Timelines are shorter. The needs in our homes and communities are accelerating, not slowing down.

And still, you’re not ready to give up.

The Healing-Engaged Leadership Path (HELP) is a space to bring your real leadership struggles without judgment — and to be supported by other leaders who understand what it means to carry so much.

Each coaching session is designed to help you leave with greater confidence, clearer next steps, and deeper connection so you can keep leading from your biggest vision — not reacting from fear and scarcity.

There are 5 founding member spots remaining, and enrollment closes Thursday, September 3.

If you’ve been feeling the call, DM us or comment HELP. We’d love to explore whether this is the right fit for you.

You don’t have to carry it all by yourself. 💜

Before June 10, 2025, Lina Traslaviña Stover, Executive Director of Heartland Workers Center, spent every day showing up for community, family by family, call by call.

Then federal agents descended on a meatpacking plant in South Omaha. Nearly 75 workers were taken away in a single morning.

Families needed support locating loved ones and a place to bring their worst fears. Lina’s staff needed steadiness, and a reminder that they weren’t alone. Lina leaned on the practices and community of leaders she had built through LJIST programs.

After a year of leading through crisis, Lina put it plainly: “Leadership sustained only by responsibility is heavy. Leadership sustained by relationship becomes more human.”

The Healing-Engaged Leadership Path (HELP) transforms your experience of leading and leadership. If you’re wondering whether HELP is the support you need to lead with more steadiness, connection, and care, let’s talk: DM us or comment HELP to learn more.

Most leadership programs teach skills, strategy, or confidence. Few address why leaders struggle to live into their own values in the first place.

That struggle isn't hypocrisy — it's the result of oppression, and healing shifts it.

The Healing-Engaged Leadership Path brings together what's usually separated: leadership development, community, embodied healing, and social change — so leaders don't have to choose between becoming more effective and becoming more whole.

In practice, that means whole-self leadership, wellbeing as structural practice, shared responsibility instead of solo carrying, coalition-building across difference, and real-world application with ongoing support.

Nanci was 26 when she founded this organization. She had a vision to end racism in her lifetime, and a commitment to live long enough to see it end.

For years she believed real leadership meant giving everything to the work — to the point of self-destruction.

Lillian, her mentor, helped her see that belief for what it was: internalized oppression, not leadership.

Healing isn't separate from ending oppression. It's integral to it.

That's the root of the Healing-Engaged Leadership Path, our new group coaching circle.

If you’re being asked to deliver transformational results inside systems built to undermine, isolate, and exhaust you, comment HELP or DM us to learn more.
