Starlings Volleyball Club @ Mission Bay (San Diego, CA)

Unfortunately, we will not be fielding teams for the upcoming 2024 Season, due to an inability to find gym space.

Please check with other Starlings sites (Clairemont and Mission Trails etc) for openings.

We will continue to search out gym opportunities and hope to be back next season.

UPDATE: Tryouts / assessments have been canceled on Thursday Mar 2 due to a MBHS Boys' Basketball playoff game.

For 6th grade and younger please come on Saturday Mar 4 10:00am-12:00pm. (please let me know if this conflicts with MS Playoff games)

For Tuesday Mar 7 we will stagger age groups:
- 7th and 8th grade 6:00pm -7:30pm
- High school players 7:30pm-9:00pm.

PLAYER TRYOUTS AND ASSESSMENT
Tryouts / assessments have been canceled on Tuesday Feb 28 due to a MBHS Boys' Basketball playoff game. We will try again on Thursday Mar 2 from 6:00pm -8:00pm at MBHS Gym.

Tuesday's Parent Night and Player Clinic has been postponed to Thursday Feb 23 due to the MBHS Boys' Basketball playoff home game.

We are super excited to announce the beginning of our 2023 season. On February 21 from 6:00-8:00pm we will hold a Parent information meeting and player clinic at the Mission Bay HS gym. We will begin by going over the details of the upcoming season, introducing coaches, and answer any questions that you may have. After the meeting, we will hold a skills clinic to introduce novice players to the game, to knock off some rust from experienced players.
A few things to note:
- This date may be subject to change should the MBHS Boys’ and/or Girls’ Basketball teams make the playoffs.
- Our scheduled practices are Tues/Thurs from 6:00-8:00 and may shift to 8:00-9:30 occasionally due to school events. There may be an opportunity to practice on Saturdays from 10:00-1:00 depending on the number of participants.
- Please review the Mission Bay Starlings website for a Parent information sheet.
For the players' clinic, please bring the following items:
• JVA Medical Release
• JVA Liability Waiver (either online or printed copies)
• Water bottle
• Energy and Effort

We are extremely excited to announce the beginning of our 2022 season. On February 24 we will hold a Parent information meeting at 7:00pm in the Mission Bay HS gym, to go over the details of the upcoming season, and answer any questions that you may have. After the meeting, we will hold a skills clinic to introduce novice players to the game, to knock off some rust from experiences players, and introduce coaches.
A few things to note:
- Please review the Mission Bay Starlings website for a Parent information sheet.
- Due to the limited gym availability, we will likely only take 3 teams this season. Our scheduled practices are Tues/Thurs from 7:00-9:00 and may shift to 8:00-10:00 occasionally due to school events. Because of the late practice schedule, we will likely focus our attention on older teams.
- We will adhere to the Mission Bay (SDUSD) guidelines regarding masks. Parents and players will be required to wear masks while indoors. Players will be required to wear masks at practices until further guidance.
For the players' clinic, please bring the following items:
• JVA Medical Release
• JVA Liability Waiver (either online or printed copies)
• Water bottle
• Energy and Effort

It is with great reluctancy that due to the current COVID-19 restrictions the 2020 Mission Bay Starlings season has been cancelled. After much discussion, we have determined that we will not have the go-ahead to gather in the near future and even then, the gyms will still be locked up.

We are in the process of planning several summer clinics including some beach events. We are going to be up and rolling as soon as possible. Please keep an eye on our website and page for events and opportunities as we move forward and wait for the restrictions to be lifted.

We will be hosting a meeting on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2pm - 4pm at the Mission Bay High School gym to provide information on the upcoming season, try on uniform samples, and answer your questions (i.e. how much are the fees, how do we get a scholarship, etc.).

The meeting will be followed by a volleyball clinic for the girls to do some drills and work with our coaching staff.
