In a little over a week, Anna + crew are attempting another para-ski mountaineering expedition! Hoping to reach the peak of Mt Baker in northern WA, and sitski the descent over the course of 4 days. Over 7,000 ft of elevation gain and roughly 5 miles of climbing, means we've been training hard for an ascent that's essentially twice as big as Mt Hood was! This has included critical training in the art of the "exhausted collapse" (see Brianna, figure 1).

Follow the rest of the climb/future projects by following Anna (instagram: ) and the documentary that's following the ascent Adapted The Film . **This will be the last post on this page (Anna is way less adept at maintaining social media outlets than Kellie, who used to update this bad boy, was!)** Huge thanks to Teton Adaptive Sports for making it possible to chase another hare-brained idea/another mountain! @ Mount Baker Wilderness

Head in the clouds, thinking about Cascade peaks again. Uh oh... ;) Stay tuned.

Thanks Higher Ground for hosting your Paralympic Youth Camp and inviting me to join the fun! This coach got her butt kicked trying to keep up with the blur of kids, skis, and shenanigans. @ Sun Valley, Idaho

After a 35-foot fall in 2015 left her partially paralyzed from the waist down, Anna Soens is still skiing and summitting mountains, all while encouraging other adaptive athletes to pursue their big-mountain dreams.

Share the stoke!

Don't have spare dinero or time to donate? Then boy are you in luck, because the most awesomest community on the planet is collecting friends not dollars on this Giving Tuesday! If you don't already, give a follow. They're pretty rad, and all they want is to share their stoke!

If you're able to throw a few bucks at your favorite organization today, that's swell. If you have the time to volunteer for something, that's choice. If not, we're all capable of giving each other a little more time, consideration, and appreciation. Learn a little somethin' about a fellow human- it makes the world smaller/better.

Look Ma, I made it into Backcountry Magazine!!!!

The words "backcountry" and "accessible", by very nature, are kind of antithetical. I stubbornly mash the two words together anyway- but I don't do it alone. Thanks Backcountry Magazine for highlighting adaptive pursuits and for reaching out to let me prattle about the importance of the adaptive sports community.

It's too bad my mom has almost definitely never heard of the magazine..

Over the racecourse and through the woods to fall funtimes we go! Second annual Cascade Crankfest, hosted by Oregon Adaptive Sports, was a success! Come join the bash next year for some pretty sweet singletrack, shuttles, and cyclocross sufferfesting.
