Part 2 from the Reel I posted a couple days ago. This call was with Big Country Snake Removal in Snyder, Tx. All in all I think we removed 32 snakes, over 20 being Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes. The other miscellaneous species were western coachwhips and Great Plains rat snakes. During the winter months, snakes are not motivated to congregate like this due to food, it’s to survive the cold in a stale air environment called Brumation, naturally this occurs underground, artificially it often occurs underneath pier and beam or manufactured homes. If undetected and undisturbed (and they often are) the snakes will return to the same site every year. We relocate them to natural Brumation sites away from people so they can keep doing snake things.
Feeding Friday! The real time video looks sped up but I assure you it’s not. Gaboon vipers have a ridiculously fast strike!
Throwback Thursday!
Two plumbers crawled past these snakes to the far end of the house then crawled back out after seeing a couple of rattlesnakes in the corner they needed to work in. There ended up being 30 more snakes they didn’t see. The full video will be on my UTube channel.
