I found Thanksgiving in the Bible! The word means to give praise, to revere or worship. Wow! Maybe take this day to really be thankful to God for everything He's done in your life and thankful for just Who He is.
What we focus on becomes more real to us, and if we focus on the things we are grateful for and thankful for, we can actually feel more peace and happiness as well. Many people that feel sad or depressed do find themselves focusing on what they don't have, what they won't have or what they have lost. When you shift your focus, it's a proven fact it makes a difference. Try it.
Even this Thanksgiving, take the time and sit down and write 10 things that you are grateful for and thankful for. They can be big or small. Even thinking about the last time you were thankful for the ability to breathe or walk. These are "simple" and taken for granted abilities to those that have them, and don't think about what a gift this is but those that don't have it know the magnitude of these gifts.
Happy Thanksgiving! Wow, that has a different feel to it now that I've researched what the Bible says that word means. 🙂

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful (mindful of favours, grateful, thankful).
