Compression boots: optional.
Ice baths after every run: maybe actually counterproductive.
Eating and sleeping: the whole ballgame.

We talked to Bozeman PT and ultrarunner Danny Foerster about what really helps you bounce back after a long run. His advice is refreshingly cheap, and yes, it includes chocolate milk.

✅ The deer that was definitely a bush
✅ Hearing “only 12 more miles” from an aid station volunteer

Want to experience a 200-mile race without losing a single toenail?

Ashley Paulson’s () Tahoe 200 and Bigfoot 200 documentaries are out now!

Watch Tahoe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kScVwVrfOTQ
Watch Bigfoot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJnibaGIt4U

The second portion of the Bigfoot 200 documentary will come out soon, so keep your eyes peeled! And while the Moab 240 race didn't quite go as planned (iykyk), you’ll still get to experience it through Ashley’s documentary when it drops.

If watching makes you want the real thing (toenails optional), the waitlists for the 2027 Tahoe 200 and Bigfoot 200 races are open on UltraSignup. And if you want to see the desert for yourself, the Moab 240 2027 lottery opens January 5–24.

Usually, a Moab 240 buckle is earned at the finish line. This year was different. 🏜️

Because the 2026 Moab 240 was cut short by severe weather, we’re working with our buckle artist, Kali Mellus (), to create custom commemorative buckles for runners who reached Bridger Jack (mile 96) or beyond.

Each buckle will be customized to reflect the mileage the runner reached during this year’s race.

This includes runners who were still on course when the race was cancelled, as well as runners who had already DNF’d at Bridger Jack or later.

We know a buckle can’t replace the finish everyone came to Moab for, but we wanted to recognize the miles, effort, and experience of the runners who made it that far.

An email has been sent to runners with a form to request a buckle. Please complete the form by October 25 so we can get your request to Kali. If you believe you’re eligible and did not receive the email, please contact us at [email protected].

Thank you to everyone who participated in the raffle for Blair’s painting ()! Together, you raised funds to support Grand County Search & Rescue.

Destination Trail is matching those proceeds, and we are also making a separate donation to San Juan County Search & Rescue in appreciation for their assistance during this year’s Moab 240.

We are deeply grateful to the Search & Rescue personnel who responded during an extremely challenging weekend and worked alongside our team and local agencies to help keep runners safe.

Thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket, to Blair for painting such beautiful artwork, and especially to the SAR teams for the work they do for this community year-round.

Moab 240 didn’t end the way any of us hoped, but the way our volunteers and staff showed up throughout the race and its aftermath is something we’ll never forget.

To our incredible volunteers and staff: thank you.

You kept aid stations running through relentless rain, wind, cold, and rapidly changing conditions. You cared for runners, kept spirits up, adapted as conditions changed, and when the decision was made to cancel the race, you responded quickly and calmly to help bring the event to a safe conclusion.

And when the runners were gone, the work wasn’t over. Many of you continued working through the storms to pack up aid stations, equipment, and the course.

So much of what you did happened behind the scenes and will never be fully seen by the public, but we saw it.

We are incredibly grateful for the care, professionalism, and hard work you gave to our runners and to each other. Thank you. 🧡

🚨Moab 240 Shuttle Update:

For runners without crew: We’re sending transportation to get you back to HQ. Four shuttles will be here shortly and then head to Dry Valley and The Needles Aid Stations, and we’re sending more personnel to pick up runners at Road 46. All other aid stations have enough staff on hand to transport runners. If more room is needed, the vans will make a second trip.

Thank you again for all your patience and understanding.
