There is a plethora of qualified candidates for this year's USA Fencing BOD elections. Only two candidates will get on the Board. In my humble opinion - all but one are deserving of the desired responsibility, yet none more than Ann Marsh-Senic. Olympian, World Championship Medalist, frontline COVID-19 fighting MD, successful club owner, Team USA Olympic and World Championships Team Leader, Coach with National Champion students, the list goes on.
From Ms. Marsh-Senic :
"I think my value proposition is that I understand the entire lifespan of an athlete from grassroots to Olympic Team because I’m involved or have been involved in all those levels over the past 37 years.
I am not planning to make any drastic changes but will help guide our organization down the correct path.
Many other candidates and persons on the board aren’t actively involved in coaching, tournaments and don’t understand first hand the needs of athletes, coaches, parents and clubs. It’s important to have people besides elite athletes who are familiar with the other age categories and broad levels of competitors.
I am also familiar with the needs of clubs outside the major metropolitan areas.
As a physician who works directly with Covid patients and stays abreast of the topics and research associated , I have professional experience of the required health and safety for the membership during this unprecedented time."
