Are you familiar with the story of Woodland Hills Flying Fish swimmer Ken Waldie, who died in New York City 25 years ago today? Ken was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 11, the first plane to strike the World Trade Center on 9/11.

The league-wide All-Relay Meet that Woodland Hills hosts each year is dedicated to Ken. He graduated from Bethel Park High School in 1973, and was one of the captains of their varsity team when they won the WPIAL swimming championship that year. In row four of the newspaper photo attached, taken in about 1966, you’ll find Kenny as a Woodland Hills kid. The Waldie Family established a memorial scholarship in Ken's name, and it continues to thrive.

Today's the day! Nominate yourself or another Member for one of the two seats that are becoming available on our Governing Board of Directors. Woodland Hills Club belongs to all of us, just as we belong to it.

Board meetings are held in person or online, and they’re typically scheduled for the third Monday or Thursday evening of each month.

There are standing committees, and we often have special or ad hoc committees as well.

What a gorgeous night at Woodland! Here's a super important safety update for all Club members:

As of today, August 21st, party reservations have concluded for 2026. Members who have not already registered their parties by this date may not host groups at the Club for the remainder of this season. In late summer, when most of our lifeguards have left for college, work, or other commitments, it’s not possible to staff our pools sufficiently for welcoming groups while maintaining a safe lifeguard-to-attendee ratio.

2027 party reservations will open this spring, via our Party Request Form:
