Congratulations and good luck to Ky Johnson on being selected to represent the Iowa Rugby Union at this weekend's Midwest Rugby Union Thunderbird Cup! Ky has proven his value by being a complete team player in the backline. Can score from anywhere with his blazing speed but also willing to make the tough tackles and set up teammates with great passes. Whether he's at Flyhalf, Wing, or Fullback, Ky gets the job done for the Wombats and now he will represent us on the Iowa Select Side Squad! You can watch him in action tomorrow at noon here:

The road to state has led us here. After battling through the regular season and earning our spot, it’s time for Urbandale Rugby to compete under the lights with everything on the line. Tonight we take the field against Bondurant in the State Rugby playoffs, ready to leave it all out there for each other, our school, and everyone who has supported us this season.

This group has put in the work from day one — early practices, tough matches, long bus rides, and countless hours preparing for moments like this. Now it’s time to trust the process, play for the brotherhood, and show what Urbandale Rugby is all about.

Congratulations to Urbandale Alumni on winning All Iowa Rugby tournament MVP! Keep up the good work!

The Man of the Tournament for the Social Bracket this past weekend at the All-Iowa Tournament was none other than our Ky Johnson!

A complete threat in every match, he was making big efforts on defense while also killing the outside channels! In the 4 matches he played, he had 2 hat tricks, including the championship match, and 2 tries in the other 2 matches for a total of 10 tries in 4 matches that he played in!

One of the most exciting players we have when he gets the ball in his hands, it was great to see how his hard work in the offseason is helping him to continue to improve on both sides of the ball!

After a strong 3-0 performance Friday night, we’ve officially secured our spot at state! The hard work, preparation, and focus showed when it mattered most, and now we get the opportunity to compete on the biggest stage.

We’re not done yet—locked in and ready for what’s next. State competition is this Friday, and we’re excited to represent and give it everything we’ve got.

This is it, the last week of the regular season, and everything is on the line. With a playoff spot within reach, the team is ready to give everything they’ve got and leave it all on the field. Every match matters, every minute counts, and there’s no holding back now.
