District 10 Little League tournament begins Saturday around Utica-Rome area The New York District 10 Little League's 2026 tournament begins this weekend. District 10 includes multiple teams across Oneida and Herkimer counties across three divisions. The divisions are 8-10 years old, 9-11 and 10-12.

The weekend is set for some great baseball!

Today gave us a reminder of exactly what Little League baseball is all about.

In the first playoff game of the day, 12-year-old Jacob Snyder hit a home run off 10-year-old Mikey Knapp. A big moment for one player and a tough one for the other.

But what happened after the game is what makes this story special.

After the final out, Mikey went out and found the home run ball… and gave it to Jacob.

No one asked him to do it. No one told him he had to. He simply recognized what that moment meant to another player and made sure Jacob would have that memory forever.

In a world where scoreboards often get all the attention, this is the stuff that really matters.

Sportsmanship.
Respect.
Character.
Community.

Two young ballplayers creating a memory neither of them will forget.

That’s what Little League is all about.
