Greater Vallejo Recreation District (GVRD) is a separate government agency from the City of Vallejo that provides parks and recreation programs for children, families, and seniors in Vallejo. GVRD operates primarily by means of locally-controlled funding and also receives revenue from fees for services, park entrances, programs, and facility rentals. Grants and park dedication permit fees assist in the provision for new park development projects and ongoing maintenance. GVRD manages 407 acres of public park space including 20 neighborhood parks, 10 community parks, 6 special purpose parks, an olympic-size swimming pool and 4 community centers. GVRD, maintains over 1,000 acres of public land and offers programs that benefit over 120,000 Vallejo residents of all ages each year.

Next Wednesday, Senior Social is back! This event takes place on the second Wednesday of each month, and it's a great way for seniors 55+ to socialize and enjoy our Vallejo community. Enjoy a warm cup of coffee, delicious pastries, and a variety of puzzles and games while meeting new friends. Coffee is sponsored by a local Starbucks, pastries from local businesses, and games and puzzles are provided by GVRD.

Does your child love to sing? 🎶

The Campanelli Youth Chorus is returning this fall, giving young singers the chance to build confidence, develop their musical talents, and perform as part of a fun, supportive group. Led by an experienced music educator, this after-school program welcomes youth of all experience levels.

The next session begins September 15, with classes held on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 PM.

Thanks to the support of the Vallejo Choral Society, scholarships are available, making this opportunity accessible to families throughout our community.
