Okay, letโs talk about it. ๐ฉท
Periods are a normal part of life, but having access to the products needed to manage them isnโt something everyone can take for granted. Research shows that period poverty and lack of access to menstrual products affect adolescents and adults across the United States.
We believe periods shouldnโt be something anyone has to feel embarrassed about or something that keeps someone from school, work, activities, or everyday life. Itโs natural, itโs normal, and itโs something we should be able to talk about.
Thatโs why the Valley City Parks & Recreation Foundation is partnering with Abused Persons Outreach Center (APOC) and the Valley City Community Closet for Give Her the Essentials, a community period product drive.
From now through October 31, weโre collecting:
โข Pads (all sizes)
โข Tampons (all absorbencies)
โข Panty liners
โข Menstrual cups
โข Period Underwear (any size)
โข Incontinence Products
โข Small toiletry bags for period care kits
โข Other new, unopened menstrual hygiene products
๐ Drop-off location: Gaukler Family Wellness Center
A donation bin will be available in the lobby.
All products must be NEW and in their original packaging. Toiletry bags may be donated separately and do not need to be packaged.
All donated products will be distributed locally through Abused Persons Outreach Center, Inc. APOC and the Valley City Community Closet to help provide essential products to those who need them.
