After an incredible weekend competing in three courses at the Mountain Trail Challenge on the Killian Trail this past Saturday, Victor and I felt our journey with Silverado wouldn't be complete until we finally conquered his fear of entering deep water. On our way home, we stopped by one of our favorite parks, Allardale Park, to find the perfect practice area.
After hiking around to find the right spot, we put in the work, and I am so proud to share that in just 10 minutes, we had a major breakthrough! We successfully rode Silverado in and out of the water. It was such a rewarding end to a busy weekend, and it really highlighted the value of patience and consistent, positive training. I’m so grateful to have shared this milestone with Victor and to see our amazing boy, Silverado, conquer such a daunting obstacle with so much confidence. Feeling incredibly proud of our progress together!

Some horses change lives, and Gemini was one of them. Over the past 25 years, this horse helped beginners become confident equestrians.
He was patient and kind. He taught hundreds of people to believe in themselves. While he is no longer here, his spirit lives on in the confidence he gave to many. Thank you for 25 years, Gemini. You were one of a kind. Gemini has been the backbone of riding lessons, building confidence in all our riders. Leaving his hoof print in everyones hearts.

HORSE OWNER ALERT: EHV-1 OUTBREAK in Texas

There is an active outbreak of Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1) in Texas, linked to recent events in the Waco area. This virus is highly contagious and can cause fever, respiratory illness, abortions in pregnant mares, and in some cases a serious neurological form called EHM.

If your horse traveled, competed, or was around horses that did—please read.

What to Watch For

Keep a close eye on your horses and contact your veterinarian immediately if you notice:
• Fever (often the first sign)
• Nasal discharge, coughing, or lethargy
• Loss of appetite
• Hind-end weakness, stumbling, incoordination
• Loss of tail tone or difficulty urinating/defecating
• Any sudden neurological changes

What You Should Do NOW
• Isolate any horse that attended recent events or was around exposed horses
• Stop hauling or attending events until cleared by your vet
• Take temperatures twice daily on all exposed horses
• Do NOT share tack, buckets, grooming tools, or trailers
• Disinfect equipment, stalls, and high-touch surfaces
• Limit visitors and keep strict biosecurity in place
