Youth amateur baseball organization based in Valparaiso, Indiana. Sessions will be twice a week for an hour each time. We look forward to working with you!
Now that our Valpo University fall baseball season is underway, we have an opportunity to start organizing/finalizing our plans for our Crusader Baseball Academy Youth Fall/Winter Instruction series. I have attached the weekly outline/schedule on the main page so you can see what the plan is for your player with regards to what we will be doing pitching/hitting wise. Our group workouts will start
the first week of October and run through the first week of February. We will be using the first week to assess/evaluate each player and get a velocity and exit velocity baseline. We will then use the rest of our time (16 weeks) to help build individual skill using weighted baseballs for throwing/hitting, underload/overload bats, individualized instruction, etc. Throughout the process, we will be getting readings of the players' velocities to track progress/improvement. Myself (Kory Winter) will be joined by another VU coach as well as a former player/current professional baseball player. We will be breaking up the players into groups and work on hitting/pitching/throwing each session. The days/times will be set to either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday (TBD). The price for our 16 week, 32 session group workouts is $650. We are also offering a once-a-week package at $350 if you prefer to only attend once a week. As you will see by the plan, we will start with controlled constraint training (tee work, no moving baseballs) and progress to front toss, batting practice, machine hitting, and then finally live bullpens in late January/early February to prepare players for their upcoming season. The gradual increase of variability will inhibit muscle memory and reinforce fundamental development. Sessions will be capped at 12 players per session. Players will be grouped with kids in or around their age group. If you have interest in participating, please email me at [email protected] or call me at 614-565-0990. Payment will be taken the first day of instruction. Checks or cash are accepted (checks will be made payable to "Crusader Baseball Academy").
