Great evening with great friends.

This day was a long time coming. Richard Michael and Bradley McNamara earned their black sashes and the title of Sifu after years of hard work and perseverance. Richard is my longest tenured student at 14 years and Bradley has been with me for 10. As excited as they were, I may have been more so.

We started this school shortly before my teacher died and I had no idea if the school would succeed or fail. We chose to take a traditional approach teaching our students, taking our time to develop their skills and not testing them on a timeline as most modern schools do. We were never a large school and we faced our share of challenges, the most recent being the Covid era, which for various reasons cut our class down to these two guys.

It was a big day for me, as well, as I promoted my very first students to the level of teacher. I am immensely proud of these two and want to thank them for their dedication. I would be remiss if I didn't extend a heartfelt thank you to my brother, Jason Frasure, for his knowledge and profound influence he had on Richard and Bradley's journey. Jason was my co-instructor for many years and shaped their journey every bit as much as I have.

As this chapter comes to a close, now the real work begins. If you know these two, please reach out and congratulate them; they most definitely deserve it. Congratulations to Sifu Michael and Sifu McNamara!

Found out today an old, dear friend and fellow martial artist/training partner passed away over a year ago. Master Clyde Hurst, be at peace. We had some great times.
