Just finished my dissertation on older people and mediation.
I think the hardest part of being a mediator is letting go of thinking I have the answer. The hallmark of mediation is to detatch from the outcome of the mediation. I want my clients to find relief and I have to leave it to them to figure it out. I am just there to coach them through the conflict.
The goal of mediation is not justice-it is resolution.
