We had an absolute blast on Saturday for the BBQ, sailing clinics, and fun and games! The wind was a bit capricious, but that's the way of it sometimes!

Thanks to everyone who came out! Check our calendar at vlsc.org for more upcoming events, including the Women's Takeover of the Lake, on Wednesday the 24th! The ladies from the Oregon Women's Sailing Association will be arriving en mass for paddling, icecream, sailing, and more!

If you're interested in giving any of the visiting ladies a tour on the lake, let us know! Everyone is welcome!

Work Party This Weekend!

Hello everyone,

We’re holding another club work party on Sunday, May 31st, and this one is especially important as we get the club ready for the upcoming regatta season.

The main goal for this work party is simple:
Let’s get the club looking sharp and functioning smoothly before visitors, racers, and crews start arriving.

We have a handful of projects lined up, including general cleanup, organizing, fixing small odds and ends around the property, and tackling some of the details that make a big difference during events. There’s plenty to do for every skill level—whether you like tools, landscaping, organizing, cleaning, or just pointing at things thoughtfully.

The work party will run from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The last several work parties have been incredibly productive, and the club is already looking noticeably better because of everyone’s efforts. Every time people show up, another corner of the club gets improved.

If there’s an area of the club you’ve always thought could use attention, this is your opportunity to jump in and help shape it. The regatta is a great excuse for us to polish things up and show off the club at its best.

Hope to see you there,

Oscar
Port Captain

Work Party this Sunday!

Here's the message from Oscar, our Port Captain!

The next club work party is happening this Sunday, May 17th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. As always, if you’re one of those suspiciously energetic morning people, feel free to show up a little early.

The last few work parties have been wildly productive. We’ve fixed lawn mowers, beautified the jungle gym, refurbished benches, and tackled a whole collection of little club details that make the place feel better every month. Good things keep happening when people show up with gloves, tools, ideas, or just curiosity. The people are starting to notice your hard work!

This month’s project lineup includes:

⛵ More boats to chop up for the bone-yard

⛵ Boats that need washing

⛵ A tree that currently has a small jungle attempting to reclaim it

⛵ Building a sun shade out of old sails

⛵ Replacing flags around the club

⛵ Installing a volleyball net

⛵ And assorted mystery tasks that tend to appear once work begins

▶️ One especially important request ◀️

We REALLY need someone with a trailer to help haul away chopped-up boats. If you have one and can help, you will immediately become one of the most popular people at the club.

There’s a little bit of everything this month—construction, cleanup, landscaping, destruction, sailing-related arts and crafts, and probably at least one project that starts with “while we’re at it…”

If there’s an area of the club you’ve always wanted to see improved, come help make it happen. These work parties have become a genuinely fun way to shape the club into something better together.

Hope to see you Sunday!
