Game 2 Recap: Butler Softball Club 12U vs Firestorm 12U

The girls showed plenty of resilience Tuesday evening in Game 2, rallying late to earn a thrilling 6-5 victory over Firestorm 12U at Kyle Park.

Firestorm 12U struck first with an RBI groundout in the top of the first, but the girls wasted little time responding. Dani B delivered a two-run inside-the-park home run to put the team in front, and a passed ball added another run to give the team an early 3-1 advantage.

Firestorm answered in the second inning, putting together a four-run rally behind an inside-the-park home run, an RBI single, and a two-run single to take a 5-3 lead.

Trailing by two heading into the bottom of the fourth, the team came through when it mattered most. Lincoln F brought home a run with a groundout before Haven S ripped a clutch RBI triple to center field, giving the team a 6-5 lead they would not surrender.

Avery V earned the complete-game victory in the circle, pitching all five innings while allowing five runs on eight hits. She struck out six batters and worked through four walks to keep Firestorm 12U off the scoreboard over the final three innings.

Dani B led the offense with a two-run inside-the-park home run, finishing 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Haven S had a breakout performance from the No. 8 spot in the lineup, collecting two hits in two at-bats, including the game-winning RBI triple. Lexie S showed excellent discipline at the plate with two walks and created havoc on the bases by stealing two bases. Daylee H, Alaya W and Scarlett P also contributed on offense with a hit each. The batting lineup remained patient throughout the game, drawing five walks.

The defense continued its strong play, and Dani B turned a double play, and the team played another error-free game. Ella C led the defensive effort with six chances, while the team’s clean defense proved to be a key factor in securing the one-run victory.

After dropping Game 1, the girls responded with grit and determination, earning a hard-fought comeback win to split the evening’s doubleheader!

Game 1 Recap: Butler Softball Club 12U vs Outcast 12U-Butcher

The girls battled hard but came up short against Outcast 12U-Butcher, falling 8-4 on Tuesday at Kyle Park.

Outcast 12U-Butcher jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning, scoring on a passed ball before adding two more runs on a base hit to take a 3-0 advantage.

The girls answered right away in the bottom half of the inning when Avery V blasted an inside-the-park home run to put the team on the board and cut the deficit to 3-1.

Outcast 12U-Butcher extended it’s lead to 4-1 in the second inning after another passed ball crossed a runner home. But the girls continued to battle throughout the game, putting together quality at-bats and refusing to quit, but couldn’t overcome the early deficit.

Avery V led the offense with an inside-the-park home run and an RBI. Alaya W, Lexie S, and Lilly S each added a hit, while Lilly also drove in a run.

Defensively, the team turned in one of its cleanest games of the season, playing error-free softball. Dani B was busy in the field, recording a team-high seven defensive chances as the defense continued to make solid plays behind it’s pitchers.

Although the final score didn’t go our way, the team’s clean defensive effort and competitive approach provided positives to build on heading into Game 2.

Game 2 Recap: Butler Softball Club 12U vs. Springfield Renegades 12U

The girls delivered a complete team performance on Tuesday in Game 2 of the evening, defeating the Springfield Renegades 12U 7-1.

The girls wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Dani B tripled down the right field line, and Avery V added an RBI to give the team an early advantage. The offense stayed hot throughout the game, highlighted by Dani’s inside-the-park home run in the third inning that drove in two runs.

Lincoln F was dominant in the circle, earning the win after allowing just one run on three hits over 4⅔ innings. She struck out nine batters while walking only one.

The Butler offense collected 11 hits on the night. Ella C, Dani B, Avery V, and Lexie S each recorded two hits. While Alaya W, Lilly S, and Scarlett P all had one hit. Dani led the way on offense with three RBIs while going 2-for-3 at the plate. Ella C and Lexie S were perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2 on the night. Daylee H showed great patience, drawing two walks as Butler totaled five walks as a team.

The girls were aggressive on the bases once again, swiping six stolen bases, including two by Ella C. Defensively, Butler was flawless, not committing a single error in the field.

A strong performance in all phases of the game helped Butler secure the 7-1 victory and finish the evening 2-0 with another impressive team win. 🥎💜💛🥎

Game 1 Recap: Butler Softball Club 12U vs. Southwest Outlaws McCoy 12U

The girls battled back from an early deficit to earn a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Southwest Outlaws McCoy 12U last night.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first two innings, the girls responded in the bottom of the third. Key singles from Lizzy E and Dani B helped spark a three-run inning that gave Butler a 3-2 lead they would not surrender.

Lilly S was outstanding in the circle, tossing a complete game while striking out 10 batters. She allowed just two hits and two runs over five innings for the team.

At the plate, Lizzy led the way, going 1-for-1 with two RBIs. Ella C, Haven S, Dani B, Lexie S, and Lizzy E each collected a hit. The team was aggressive on the bases, swiping six stolen bases, including two from Daylee H.

Defensively, the girls played a clean game without committing an error. Ella C anchored the defense and led the team with 12 fielding chances from behind the plate.

A complete team effort secured the 3-2 win and showcased the team’s resilience, aggressive baserunning, strong defense, and dominant pitching. 🥎💜💛🥎
