Coaches and athletes often experience less than optimal times in the weight room. This might be around scheduling the weight room, practice times, or any other number of factors. If you want to maximize results without spending excess time in the gym, use one or multiple of our time saving hacks in the post above.
Just don’t let your training devolve into just circuits to cram more exercises in and feel tired. Circuits can be quite useful for conditioning, but they aren’t good for increasing speed or strength. You need to lift heavy and move fast to improve those qualities. That means taking the time to one, actually warm up and lift heavy, and also taking long enough rest periods so that you are fresh enough to produce large amounts of force quickly. Not every part of training needs to “feel” hard or tiring. There is a time and place for conditioning in every sport; just make sure it isn’t the only thing you do and speed and strength gets its fair due.
