The Paralympics are built on the same grit, pressure, sacrifice, and excellence as any Olympic stage. Records are broken. Limits are pushed. Champions are made.

So when people reduce it to a “feel-good moment”…
you erase the work.
you erase the competition.
you erase the athletes.

And that mindset?
It’s outdated. It’s harmful. And it’s still way too common.

We’re not here for your sympathy.
We’re here to compete.

With just 2 days to go…..here’s the truth…..

The past three weeks tested me in ways splits and intervals never could!!! Infection. Health complications. A forced hard reset.

I don’t know what kind of skier I’ll be when I race again in a few days —BUT I know I’ll be one who fought to get back. And that matters Just as much as a podium, if not even more.

It’s easy to be an athlete when everything‘s going right. But when the hard moments come at worst time and you’re at the bottom rebuilding, THATS what shows the true character of the athlete.

Being part of a Toyota USA Super Bowl commercial, alongside icons like Bubba Wallace and , is more than I ever imagined.

Toyota didn’t just make a Super Bowl commercial. They made a reminder. A reminder of where dreams begin—and that EVERY dream matters, even when the world sees limitations.

Hearing little Sawyer’s voice yelling, “We’ll go further than we ever thought we could,” will live in my heart forever—& will be my anthem/motto on every start line as I head into my 8th Paralympic Games.

For little Oksana… and even more, for little Sawyer—so she knows, believes, and SEES that she CAN do anything and go farther than SHE ever thought possible.

Reflecting back this past winter, Nordic season, there’s one event that specifically stands out to me that Im most proud of…

If you know me, you know my passion and belief that adaptive sports equipment should be accessible to ALL without any barriers of astronomical costs. The Hartford has been a pioneer in the adaptive sports movement. I have felt this and lived this movement for the first time 10 years ago at

10 years ago at The Hartford skis spectacular, I was trying winter sports for the first time. I was one of these athletes that had the world of adaptive winter sports open up to me. Fast-forward 10 years later, I am back at this same event that changed the trajectory of my winter athletic career. This time , with my role as an athlete ambassador & a member of team Hartford, I am giving back by surprising & gifting athletes with their very own custom adaptive sports equipment.

This is why I’m so proud to be a part of the team Hartford. Decades later, The Hartfords commitment to making adaptive sports & equipment more accessible, is stronger than ever through events like Adaptive Sports Equipment program & The Hartford SkiSpec where I get to surprise so many athletes with their very own custom adaptive sports equipment where some can cost 6x the amount of non adaptive sports equipment.

I know what I felt, and the spark that was ignited inside me when I had the right equipment to try skiing,cycling, and rowing. And seeing the same spark being ignited in these athletes, some for the first time, some over, and over means the most to me as an athlete.

these are the moments, that mean the most to me and the best part of being an athlete🤍
