Hello to all our Venice UTL families,

Friday Night Lights are saved!

Yes, an update to our updates and an early Christmas miracle. ☺️

As you all know over the past month, Coach Brown has been working with Corporate and County on playing location for this upcoming Winter season. Wellfield is currently unavailable due to that site being used for Hurricane disaster cleanup. From the beginning, folding and canceling the season; turning away 300+ children was not an option. UA Flag football is a fun family event enjoyed by the Venice and surrounding areas community.

We had made final decision and announcement earlier this week to move the games to Saturdays at The Lakefront Church in Venice.

As of yesterday afternoon, we received in writing from the county a formal confirmation that they are reserving the fields in Englewood for Friday Nights Under the lights game times!!

They old saying "it takes a village" holds true. We really appreciate the efforts and hard work from a group of dedicated Coaches to make both opportunities available for us.

Moving back to Friday nights definitely meets the needs of the community.

We will keep the registration link open for those who would like to return and hold a spot for this season. Coaches will receive their rosters ASAP and orders will be placed for uniforms by the end of this weekend.

The schedule for the season will return to as previously planned:

Friday Nights (games start at 6pm and end by 10pm)
Season Dates
December 2, 9, 16,
January 13, 20, 27
February 3, 10 (Championships)

Season update!

Hello to all of our Venice families,

Two weeks ago, we sent out a league wide email to all registered players about a location change due to the county closing Wellfield park for disaster recovery post Hurricane Ian. we will host our Winter 2022/2023 season at THE ENGLEWOOD SPORTS COMPLEX.

Coach Brown worked very hard, alongside with some dedicated coaches, to make this happen. Last thing we want to do is turn away children from what will turn out to be a GREAT season of flag football.

Rosters will go out to Coaches this week, so you will hear from them ASAP. A general "Welcome" email will be sent out league wide to all parents by this weekend as well. It will include some general information and what to expect moving forward in the season.

If this does not work for your family, please let me know ASAP! As I am placing orders for uniforms so I'll need to know NO LATER THAN 11/18/2022.

Thank you so much for your time and patience as I reply to emails and solidify plans for this season.
