Coach Susie & I were high schoolmates back in the day at Saint Bonaventure. I’m so happy she said yes without a hesitation when I asked her if she would come and share her yoga offerings to our movement disorder community. ❤️ Our members are gaining so much from Susie’s NeuroYoga class, held every Tuesday at 9:45 AM. Her class focuses on improving balance and building strength.
My kid told me I needed to be more “nonchalant” with the logo, so Susie wears our hip new T-shirt .
Thank you friend Susie for being a valued member of our coaching team! ❤️

How ‘Magic Mushrooms’ Could Help Parkinson’s Disease Patients
A first-of-its-kind study tested the safety of psilocybin on patients with mild to moderate Parkinson’s disease and found that patients experienced clinically significant improvements in mood, cognition, and motor function that lasted for weeks after the drug was out of their systems.

Portraits of Parkinson’s, a series by Charles Levin.

I met Hank in our Ventura Neuroboxing class, which is run by his daughter, Beth Baumer.
A few decades of research shows that non-contact boxing helps control symptoms.
On living with PD, Hank told me, “It sucks, but like everything in life and especially farming, you must deal with the challenges you face and make the most of every day. There is a silver lining in everything, and the people I’ve met and fight with [in Neuroboxing] are exactly that. I love them and treasure the time we have together. The saying for the day [in the class] is ‘Badasses. We are undefeated!!!’ “
Parkinson’s Disease is the fastest growing neurological disease in the world with 90,000 new cases a year in the United States — or one every six minutes.
