6) I really want to learn self-defense. Does this class teach that?
Not really. While we do a lot of punching and kicking that could come in handy if you (God-forbid) find yourself in a fight, we do not teach actual self defense. If you want to learn the best self defense, please attend our Krav Maga classes at the studio.

5) Do you wear uniforms?
No. We just wear regular workout clothes. There are no shoes allowed on the mat (unless they are wrestling shoes) so most of us just go barefoot.

4) Do I need any equipment for this class?
If you have MMA type gloves, bring them. If you don't, we have extras. Everything else is provided.

3) I'm just looking to get into shape. Would this be a good class for that?
ABSOLUTELY! That is really the primary goal of this class. Even when we are punching and kicking, it's focused on strengthening different muscle groups while increasing cardio and endurance. Every class is different so you are unlikely to get bored.

2) I've never punched or kicked anything and this class sounds aggressive.
I hear that a lot, but the reality is that we have all levels and all ages of students in class and are an extremely friendly bunch. Some are hardcore and others are not. We pair you with someone who you will be comfortable with. One of my favorite partners in class is an adorable 6 year old little girl who comes to class with her dad, so you really have nothing to fear.

1) Is this a fight/self defense class?
No. We do a fair amount of punching and kicking, but we also do strength training and pilates and yoga. We are focused more on a full body workout to gain strength, endurance and tone.
