Big smiles for icecream today at the last day of week 8!

This weekend VYC/SBYC sailor Camille Tinker competed in the NorthWest Champs Regatta in Oregon.

Coming in First Place 🥇 in the White fleet and Third Place 🥉 Girls Overall.

So proud of this girl and all of the hard work she has put in these last couple of months, including sailing her opti from Ventura Yacht Club all the way to the Ventura Pier while everyone else sailed FJ’s.

We cannot wait to see what else you achieve Camille!

Officially more than halfway through summer with the conclusion of week 5 of camp! There are still spots available to sign up for the next four weeks so sign up now!

Our sailors made it to the pier in record time today, with perfect wind and beautiful seas.

We are off to an amazing start to our Junior Summer Sailing Camp !!!

Here at the Ventura Yacht Club these Jr. Sailors have been out on the water learning and having fun being immersed into the world of sailing.

Thank you to all who donated to and the Ventura Youth Sailing Foundation! Your generosity has allowed us to get dolly parts, running and standing rigging, sails, and FIVE NEW OPTI BOOMS! These booms, and all of our new equipment, will allow to support students, from beginners to racers, in our Opti, FJ, and ILCA fleets!

Congratulations to VYC's own Junior Members Emmet H. and Amber M. on their sixth place overall for the '24/'25 Shadden Series!
The CFJ team represented Ventura at four regattas--from Newport Harbor's 2 knot drifter in September to Alamitos Bay's 28 knot blowout in March. Results from the series are linked in our Bio! VYC's next CFJ term begins in April, and will see our team at the CFJ Nationals in July!

Another amazing Sunday Funday with a twist--specifically a tie dye twist! We had so much fun tie-dying our youth program t-shirts. We even had a guest appearance from our previous commodore Garret Baum, who joined us in the afternoon for his own shirt!

Sailing does not end with summer camp, it merely transitions! Starting today, the first of the regular racing seasons is upon us, with our CFJ Race Team practicing for the Shadden Series, organized by Good luck, team!
