Learn to belly dance! Come join me to get moving in a new way! Belly dance combines rhythm and movement in a fun safe environment. Portia

Build grace and strength while shaking it! My favorite thing about this style of dance is that it works for EVERYONE, all shapes, sizes, abilities and ages. I will be taking a break from teaching this spring to spend time with my family before they are grown and gone! I highly recommend Jenn Osbornes Tuesday bellydance class. Catch her at Zanzilla at 630. I will be back in summer for some 4 week series of good times and fun dancing! Keep moving! Xoxox

Dance posture
Exterior (large) hip circles
Omi or interior (small) hip circles
Round the world (hip circles side to side step)
Hip bumps focusing on upward accent
Turning right to left w hip bump
Traveling hip bump forward/turn/back/turn
Choo choo arch turn
Campfire (from hip bump to grapevine, side to side w arms)
Camel walk (left arm eleve, right arm diagonal, snake arms, torso rotation)

Isometric arm presses (palm down, forward, up) to build shoulder strength

Dance posture
Snake arms
Shoulder shimmy
Hip shimmy (w traveling)
Exterior hip circles
Body waves and undulations (rolling up and down)
Turkish shimmy
Arabic (traveling and circles)
Arabic w sweeping arms and turn
Plus some conversation about different dance styles and origins.
