This is the first year in 21 years that there is no Dina LaVigna Breath of Life Triathlon. 2019 was our last year (fortuitous). This event was a crazy idea that started out with two ambitious kids that evolved into a USAT sanctioned event with 800 participants. From your donations, we raised millions of dollars for research and care for children with Primary Immunodeficiency Disease. We honor Dina with every athlete that joined us on our journey, several weddings and children, the thousands of family members cheering in the sand and along the streets, every burger Gary and Brenda served, every award we handed out. And to the hundreds of volunteers who came out to the beach at 4:30am every year, we thank you. To the friends we made along the way, we thank you. To anyone who gave a donation, we thank you. Our mission is not over, PID is still being diagnosed. If anyone has any questions or wants to know more about PI - www.info4pi.org. From the entire LaVigna family, we miss you and we thank you for 21 years of tears and joy. Stay healthy. Stay safe.
Good luck to everyone racing Catalina Island Triathlon this weekend!

It started as a challenge between two friends, which became a 20 year commitment. The Dina LaVigna Breath of Life Charity Triathlon was born from sorrow, but became a family passion to raise money for Primary Immunodeficiency Disease (PID). With monies raised, we have rebuilt the immunology wards at Mt. Sinai in NY and UCLA Medical Center in LA, as well as funded projects for Children’s Hospital LA, all in Dina’s name. Partnering with the Jeffrey Modell Foundation (you know those cute children on the posters in the kiosks in the mall? Yep, that is JMF!), we have been fortunate to be able to make a difference in the lives of patients living with PI. We are so very thankful you became a part of our story, and a part of our Breath of Life Family - whether you came out to race with for the first time today or were a lifer (we had a few) we are honored that you were with us on our journey. We know Dina would be proud.

Our amazing volunteers past and present - we could not have done these past 20 years without you. You consistently came out at the crack of dawn and stayed, sometimes hauling bike racks, dirty grills, or cases (and cases) water. We are forever in your debt. THANK YOU. And the rest of the athletes pix here are just enjoying a pint - wanted to include you too!

We are so proud of every athlete - from those who came in first, to the last person who crossed the finish line (with all of us cheering)! Feel free to tag your friends!

The 21st Annual Dina LaVigna Charity Triathlon is in the books! It was cold and wet, but you all made it seem so effortless. We hope you all enjoyed yourself and had a burger and a pint on us. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your year(s) of coming back and supporting our cause, funding patient care and comfort for Primary Imunodeficiency Disease.
