First KID PWR Performance Series clinic in the books. 🥎

It wasn’t just about running faster.

The girls learned how Power Words can change the way we talk to ourselves and our teammates, broke down running mechanics from the ground up, and learned how to use their four running paces — from 🐢 Turtle all the way to 🐆 Cheetah — and when each one matters on the softball field.

Then we put it all together and PLAYED.

They left sweating, smiling, and hopefully a little more confident than when they arrived.

That’s what the KID PWR Performance Series is about — developing the athlete and the mindset behind her.

☀️ Florida said, “Not so fast, Run Club!” 😂

With temperatures pushing 97° and the real feel climbing over 100°, we’re postponing our first VB Afterschool Run Club until Thursday, August 27th at 4:15 PM.

But here’s what I want parents to know…

Hot weather doesn’t mean we stop moving. It means we get creative. 💦🏃‍♀️

Throughout our fall season, I’ll be adjusting practices based on the weather and conditions that day.

On our hotter afternoons, that might look like:

💦 Shorter running intervals
💦 More hydration, shade + cooling breaks
💦 Water relays + sponge challenges
💦 Running games that work on pacing, posture, speed + endurance
💦 Plenty of teamwork, laughter and KID PWR Power Words along the way

And on those days?

We’re not chasing mileage.

There are so many ways to build stronger runners without asking kids to continuously run in extreme heat.

KID PWR Run Club has never been about simply logging miles. We use running + movement to build confidence, resilience, teamwork, healthy habits and kids who learn what their bodies are capable of. 💪

So we’re giving this extreme heat one more week — and then we’re ready to RUN…with a few opportunities to get soaked along the way. 😂💦

Professor Oak kept our Trainers busy all week…

🎴 Traded Pokémon cards
⚔️ Battled fellow Trainers
🎯 Completed Mission Challenges
🌊 Took on water adventures
⭐️ Earned their badges along the way

But somewhere between the slime, the laughter, the trading, and the adventures… something even better happened.

New friendships were made.
Confidence grew.
Imaginations ran wild.
And kids simply got to be kids.

Even Coach Hunter learned a few Pokémon things this week. 😉 (I may finally know the difference between Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle! 😂)

Thank you to every family who trusted us with your Trainers this summer. We loved creating this Pokémon adventure and can’t wait to dream up the next one.
