Las Manos Que Curan | Ancestral Healing Oil 🕯️🤲🏼
For the hands that heal, the hearts that hold, and those who deserve to be held, too. 🫂
In honor of Día de los Mu***os, I am preparing a limited batch of Las Manos Que Curan, an ancestral healing oil rooted in Mexican curanderismo, created with the intention of offering comfort, compassion, protection, and restoration.
But what makes this oil especially sacred to me is where it will spend its time before making its way into your hands.
This batch will be consecrated upon my ofrenda, Las Manos Que Curan, at the Nave Museum’s Día de los Mu***os exhibition.
My ofrenda is dedicated to the curanderas, curanderos, and ancestral healers whose knowledge, traditions, and healing hands have touched generations.
It will be a working curandera’s table, filled with herbs, pawahtzli (healing tools), copal, candles, and the familiar elements of traditional Mexican healing. Alongside it, a three-tiered ofrenda will welcome home the spirits of healers who have walked before us.
Among those being honored are Don Pedrito Jaramillo, Elena Avila, El Niño Fidencio, and María Sabina, alongside my own grandmother and other healers whose names may not be widely known, but whose wisdom lives on through the people they cared for.
For the duration of the exhibition, this oil will rest upon the altar, surrounded by their photographs, offerings, and the intentions of remembrance, gratitude, and healing.
An offering to the ancestors. A prayer for those carrying their work forward.
Las Manos Que Curan is for the curandera who has spent her life tending to others. The parent comforting a sick child. The therapist holding space for grief. The nurse, doctor, Reiki practitioner, caregiver, or friend who continually shows up with open hands and an open heart.
It’s for the person who is hurting, grieving, exhausted, or simply longing to feel cared for.
Because healing is not only something we give. It is something we deserve to receive.
This oil is a reminder that the hands that cleanse, comfort, nurture, and hold others are worthy of that same tenderness.
Que las manos que curan también sean sanadas.
May the hands that heal also be healed.
This will be a limited batch, consecrated during the 2026 Día de los Mu***os exhibition. Once this batch is gone, this particular ancestral consecration cannot be recreated.
Created with love, reverence, and gratitude for those who came before us, and for those who continue the work.
Para sanar, cuidar y recibir cuidado. 🤎
