The 2026 GSL weekend Regionals have concluded, with the E team emerging victorious, boasting an undefeated record of 4-0 with four mercy rules to secure the championship. The team's success was largely attributed to the exceptional pitching of tournament MVP James Beechinor. Additionally, the team demonstrated impressive hitting and defensive skills across all members. Congratulations are in order for all tournament team members, including Matthew Bennett, Christian Guerrera, Chad Passaro, Nick Bruno, and Cole Zucco. Although it was reported that the D team competed on Sunday, this claim cannot be confirmed or denied . The E team's next competition is scheduled for August 1st in Torrington. Meanwhile, the D team is set to participate in the statewide Firecracker tournament in three weeks; best of luck to both teams. A long day for the Kookies E Team at the sports Plex today the boys went 6 and 1, with a tough 7th inning loss to a feisty Didi Deeds team 12-11 in the upper gold flight.
The team will be back in action next sat in Torrington for the GSL E regionals. The D team will also be playing Sunday in Torrington in the GSL D regionals. Good luck to both teams.
