Sugar Creek Golf Course has achieved designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, recognizing the course's ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable golf course management.

The certification is presented by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. The effort to gain the designation was led by Golf Course Superintendent, Kevin Goss, whose leadership helped guide the course through the rigorous process.

Sugar Creek Golf Course is now one of more than 900 golf properties worldwide to earn certification from Audubon International.

"Joining the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program has been a goal at Sugar Creek Golf Course for many years, and I am very grateful to the staff and community members who contributed to this effort,” says Goss.

The Driving Range is closed until further notice due to the inclement weather.

The Golf Course is open and riding carts are going out cart path only.

Sugar Creek Golf Course and the driving range will remain closed today due to the air quality.

AFTERNOON UPDATE FOR 7-17-26 - East End Pool will open at 4pm today, July 17. All other facilities will open at regular hours tomorrow, July 18.

UPDATE FOR 7-17-26 - The AQI is now above 400 according to airnow.gov and all outdoor programs, activities, and events are once again cancelled. Facility closures include Sugar Creek Golf Course, Smalley Pool, East End Pool, Safety Town and The Hub at Berens Park. The geysers at Centennial Park will also be off. Participants of affected programs will be notified directly. Please check epd.org, the Rainout Hotline or the Elmhurst Park District's social media channels for the latest updates. We will notify the community as soon as air quality returns to safe levels and normal operations can resume.

Junior Golf Camp is cancelled today. A make up day will be offered on Monday, July 20 at the regular scheduled class times.

The safety of our participants, visitors and staff is our highest priority. The following facilities are closed until further notice:

- The Hub at Berens Park

In addition, today's Pop Up Party in the Park at Butterfield Park has been cancelled. Staff will contact participants that will be affected by the cancellations.
