Mac LaForge of Downers Grove North finishes his high school track career at the state meet by finishing 8th in discus with a throw of 168’3”! Congratulations!

Registration for Impact’s big summer “learn by doing” throwing clinic is OPEN! Sunday, July 26, in Aurora, IL. Three sessions on technique, followed by a session of open throwing! I thought I posted this before, but I realized I forgot. Sorry, everyone!
Congrats to Impact members Langston Toth and Mac LaForge, both of Downers Grove North, of doing FANTASTIC work at the indoor conference meet in shot put! Langston broke through with a new PR of almost 46’ and jumping 3 spots to 6th place!
Mac threw well over 49’ and taking 3rd, moving up one spot! Nice work men!

So I decided to Google search “Top shot put coach in Illinois”, and I did not expect some results. I like to think I’m doing a good job, but every day I question if I’m doing the right things, and I think about what I can do to be better. I guess I’m doing some things right.

It’s happening! Impact is hosting its first ever summer shot put and discus competition! Saturday, June 20th, at Downers Grove North HS. Boys and girls will be competing in three divisions, with awards down to 5th place in each division! I’m happy to announce that I have been to selected to be a presenting coach at this year’s “Windy City Learn by Doing” Track Clinic on March 28th in Chicago! I’ll be leading three sessions on the throws for middle school kids, with one session to coaches about practices!

Registration for Impact’s junior winter clinic is open! Sunday, December 7, at the Jordan Athletic Center in Elmhurst, IL, from 2:00pm to 4:15pm. This clinic is focused on middle school athletes ages 9-14 in shot put and discus. Visit www.impactthrowing.com on the Upcoming Events page for details!

Impact’s big Summer Throwing Clinic is complete! 17 athletes from as far as 2 hours away came to learn shot put and discus technique from some of the top Illinois throws coaches! A hot day for sure, but no rain! See you next year!
