Our Buena-Vineland girls wrestled in the first ever Girls District 12 Tournament at RCSJ Gloucester County hosted by Paulsboro HS this past Sunday, March 1st. Buena Chiefs Wrestling

Vinelands own Exodus Hollander won the 138lb title by way of pin in the 2nd period. She is Vinelands first ever Female District Champion.

Buena Regionals own Shea Aretz won a state title as a Sophomore in 2024. She won her first ever District Title yesterday with a 6-4 decision in the finals at 145lbs. She is Buena’s first ever Female District Champion.

Bri Roeder took 4th at 114lbs.
Roube Buensuceso took 4th at 152lbs.
Jacenia Centeno took 6th at 120lbs.
Destiny Cabarcas Rincon took 5th at 185lbs.

Our top 4 placers will represent our team in the Regional Tournament this coming Sunday at Absegami HS 9am. Congratulate these girls on their accomplishments!

As we reach the start of our second season and head to the District 31 Tournament at Delsea Regional I’d like to commend our boys for staying the course over the wrestling season. Certainly some peaks and valleys but it’s how you finish!

As the wrestling season winds down we head into the final week of the regular season. But before we get there we have a Tri-Meet with Pitman and Willingboro High Schools. 9am.

On Feb 5th, Vineland and Millville fought it out in they’re annual dual. Both teams have been experiencing growing pains this season but Vineland was able to gut out a 39-35 win!

The match started at 132 lbs with a fall by Deytin Pickett, Jayden Cinkowski lost a hard fought bout at 138 and Joel Acosta walked out for a forfeit at 144. Vineland’s Rodriguez lost the advantage at 150 by fall. However, Cole Axelson took another walk out to the middle for another forfeit. Millville took the next two bouts with a tech fall and a pin to go up in the team score. Liam Anderson had a key pin at 190 to keep Vineland a live. Millville jabbed back with a fall at 215 and a decision at HWT. The tide turned at 106 and 113 with Jeremiah Rosa and Santino Machinsky getting key pins. The team score was ultimately decided at 120 with a tough 9-8 decision by Nick Garreffi.
