Hello, my name is Mo, a certified self-defense instructor. My martial art journey began at the age of 14, with taekwondo as my first discipline. Taekwondo, a Korean martial art, utilizes kicks, punches, and jumps for self-defense and combat, while also emphasizing discipline, respect, and character development as a way of life. Over time, I incorporated western boxing, an excellent form of aerobic exercise that stresses the cardiovascular system and increases breathing rate, with workouts often including punching bags, jumping rope, and sit-ups. In my later years, I incorporated kung fu, specifically Xingyi, which employs joint manipulation coordinated movements to generate bursts of power intended to overwhelm the opponent, simultaneously attacking and defending. Methods vary from school to school but always include bare-handed fighting training and the training of weapons usage with similar or identical body mechanics. The most basic notions of movement and body mechanics in the art were heavily influenced by the practice of staves and spears. I combined these disciplines with another that utilizes eight points of contact to mimic weapons of war, earning it the nickname "The Art of Eight Limbs", which includes punches, elbows, knees, and kicks. To form a art called street Muay Thai
